Why is this game multiplayer?

What I don’t really get is that didn’t D3 already kind of solve this? It had like 10+ torment difficulties and while it wasn’t great that rifts and greater rifts were the only meaningful endgame, the infinitely scaling content being the primary thing you do to progress at least meant you always had to challenge yourself. D4 has a wider variety of endgame activities and it incentivizes you to do a lot of them by splitting up the rewards between them, but everything outside of the Pit caps out at T4 for some reason. It seems like it’d be really easy to just add in like 6 more difficulties or whatever.

D3 was certainly the more casual ARPG option at the time, but it was still a game. Half the endgame activities barely qualify as that once you get more than an hour or so into the endgame gearing process.
