Yes for SSF it’s hard, but that’s true for any game SSF exists in. You’re purposely gimping yourself, so I wouldn’t exactly expect the game to be on the same difficulty level as people who are able to trade.
That would be like people playing ironman in OSRS complaining that it was difficult to get to endgame. Yeah, it sure is.
I’m waiting for the inevitable Goblin Invasion to start back up again. Unless they mess it up too, it’s a fun way for me to 1) hunt monsters down and 2) get -plenty- of materials and gold to do whatever I need.
This season I am running out of gold more than anything else, with reworking gear at the blacksmith. I also don’t want to buy, sell, trade with people. I didn’t buy this game to have someone else play it for me. But that’s just me. If you do that, no offense, enjoy!
Players shouldn’t have to buy any mats, especially in a broken shady trade system in the game. I agree with the OP. Wasting time with repetitive, boring, grindy runs and getting ZERO rewards to upgrade and progress your character’s power in a limited Seasonal game play is an awful and bad experience for any player, and that definitely feels bad!
The simple solution for Blizzard is: to increase and improve drop rates for Mythics, GA2 and GA3 across the board, and fix and improve Diablo 4 overall. It’s going on 2 years and it’s long overdue! - JJ -

Drop rates are lame. If you get a 3GA it fills like you hit jackpot. Till you find out it’s not your build. Seriously, if in T4 increase drop rates due to difficulty should be dropping this level gear.
