Someone enlighten me please…I am not following the news or every patch detail much but compared to D3 or POE or games similar to D4,
summoner builds just suck so bad.
These are some of the things they should have fixed BEFORE their beta release back in June!!!
Skeletons AI is abysmal !
They die so easily exactly when you need them the most.
IMHO it is a given that they should do the main damage while your character should support them.
Next to no variation in minions’ skills, and hence, not much of builds.
Interested to see what you think folks.
They say when a bird craps on your best shirt, be grateful that cows don’t have wings…the main reason for this is a bunch of streamers said something based on 20 level progress …since they can’t shut up and that was enough for a LOT of sheep here to follow
The streamers i was following never said anything bad about the summons. They had more than 2 brain cells to rub togeather, not to judge anything by early game experience. Unlike some of the mentally challanged members and influencers of the community, who just wanted to ruin fun for pet build enjoyers.
I don’t realy know why a summon mancer getting through easy content easily was a bigger problem back than, than a BLS sorc getting throug the hardes content easily now. I’m not seeing that many people crying about it, than people were cry about summons in open beta.
If devs would revert summons changes to prelaunch state, they still wouldn’t deal much damage, but atleast they wouldn’t die like flies.
PS: I hope I offended enough people to get banned. XD
They are rare and the rest of them all had a “successful career” before becoming streamers. This go to sentence always cracks me up!
Back to the subject, I really think if they just fix AI to focus on your target and maybe even help with defence…it would be amazing.,
With the resistance changes they just need better scaleing through difficulties, to have more life, armour and res. ALSO! I would rather see Blood Getter and Occult Dominion aspects either A: get deleted and add summoning additional skeletons on the masteries, freeing up 2 item slots, or B: change their power, and again put the +summons on the masteries, but add another function.
Like the name Blood Getter, the first thing comes into my mind is life leech for skele warriors.
Than Occult Dominion could be like an aura for mages, they let other summons deal their respective damage type as addition. Like frost mages give additional cold damage, shadow mages give shadow damage and bone mages could give overpower or something, i haven’t realy thought this one through.
That might crush the game to pieces. XD Remember what infinte Blood Lace builds did? It would probably be the same. I wouldn’t add more skeletons untill the game is stable enough to hold them.
Same basic reason there’s no truly ranged build in the game that’s worth playing. Because Blizz doesn’t want to balance around it. Far easier for them to nerf everything that isn’t a melee build into the ground, that way right out of the gate they only need to bother balancing a small fraction of possible builds.
Before someone gets all actualllly on me, by melee I’m referring to melee range, not melee weapons.
-Necro is my second favorite class after sorc. I’m a glutton for punishment.
-Even at it’s best, I NEVER do a necro to 100 and beyond with minions.
-I get that a lot people want the minions to matter and that’s fair.
-Personally, just the fact that the minions look like unlikely cartoons, makes me want to get rid of them and not care. Even graphically, they look like a joke.
-Don’t know if my thoughts help or hurt your premise but my thought is… definitely do SOMETHING with them.
Yes but it struggles greatly, even with high investment. Summons can’t realy tank because they don’t pull aggro, skeletons are all over the place, Golems are good as they are, but thats it. It’s no where near as good as minionless necro builds, or other class builds like HotA barb, BLS sorc, TB rouge or Pulverise druid, just to name a few. Some how no one bats an eye for these builds, but if minion necro would be just half as good as these builds, the loud minority would lose their mind.
I think it is just because they treat people as lab rats.
Why bother doing anything when they can always do it after people complain a lot about to increase their respect in community as “a team that always listen to feedback”.
This game so many issues with builds beyond counts.
Example : you can have 1 brain cell and build a HOTA and demolish everything vs Necro that has a HUGE APM and output an O.K. damage and break your keyboard!
With HOTA I just made a keyboard macro and went through ALL the content without even bothering myself to ever turn it off.
cuz blizzard doesn’t care, and even if they do, they are SOOOOO SLOW with properly redesigning, buffing, reworking stuff etc…,
that we might… get a good design in season… 5? 7? ish
