Why did Inarius even want to go Home?

What do the angels even do in Heaven? The demons in Hell probably war amongst themselves, but the angels are probably bored out of their skulls.

Inarius is actually E.T in disguise

I think we are supposed to believe that it is like a paradise even though we’ve already seen it and it’s kind of just meh.

TBH I didn’t like him anyway. If there was a choice I would have went with moms

MY THEORY:
Neither Demons nor Angels can truly change their innate nature, nor their need to eventually return to their places of origin.

The humans of Sanctuary, since their heritage is a mixture of both, are the only beings who truly have choice, who can chart their own destinies, or work directly against Fate itself.

So, it’s not that Inarius ā€œwantedā€ to go home … I say, he felt a bone-deep NEED to return to the High Heavens. Like a free-diver running short on breath, who needs to return to the surface and breathe. The absence of the High Heavens, his not being able to go back even briefly, would have been like that ache to take a breath. Maddening, irresistible, but impossible without returning.

That also explains why Lilith, whose goal was to protect Santuary, used means and methods that we would call evil … or demonic. Because regardless of whatever else she was or wanted, she is a Demon.

It’s all very like the story of the Fox and the Scorpion. For both of them.

I can buy this explanation. It’s the only other one besides my own that I think makes a lot of sense.

But even still he was on sanctuary a long time before being banished and did not have a need to return to the high heavens during that. So I don’t know.

I thought it was inarius’s spear when lilith stabbed him with it

haha maybe the play solitaire all day xD or they try to figure out how to build a toilet now that tyrael is a human :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is essentially my theory.
Homeboy was basically mentally exhausted and broken. He just wanted to go home and didn’t really have a goal past that, from what I can personally tell.
That said, I doubt we’ve seen the last of either Lilith or Inarius.

He could and did return, at least for brief periods, until being handed over to Mephisto to be tormented for eternity.

But, regardless of that … there’s a large difference between ā€œhe doesn’t returnā€ and ā€œhe cannot returnā€.

They play diablo 4 up there.
