This pretty much. Most don’t hate the game, they’re just disappointed and hope if they kick up enough of a fuss, blizzard will actually try to improve the game drastically in a good way before people lose interesting,
The way D4 released is exactly like Darktide. Released as complete reset of the game, removing great features and not building on what they had already from their previous games. It was incomplete, buggy and boring. Fans kicked up a fuss in the same way here hoping the dev will do something, defenders told them to leave, devs dragged out changes and repeated the same lines “We’re looking into it”. The game went from 100k to 10K to 2K players
Not saying the drop off will be as dramatic, but with some many games coming out, D4 is gonna struggle to keep interest up. Tbh with BG3 release, interest seems to already be shifting
