theres no enjoyability in running endless pits over and over and over for chances at a failure to upgrade a glyph
with this, and the BS bricking with tempering and masterworking the worst affixes every time, the game is constantly gambling against you and giving you losses purposefully just to keep you “playing”
Then why are you doing it? Blizzard isn’t holding a gun to your head. They provided some content (quality is irrelevant). You can enjoy the content… or not do the content… or do the content and not enjoy it. Those are all choices. Play something that’s fun. Better choice.
All rewards should have multiple sources. That would help a lot.
Pit is bad on its own and imo could just as well be removed. But as long as it didn’t have exclusive rewards or increased efficiency, or exclusive difficulty not to forget, it would not be an issue that it existed alongside other endgame activities.
Can also SLAM items, crafting system is far superior to anything out there, and boss fights at the higher levels of corruption are actually interesting (somewhat messy, but interesting).
Because Blizzard legitimately doesn’t care if anyone enjoys the game just as long as a critical mass still plays and more importantly at this point, buys stuff at the shop for inflated prices.
Blizzard has shown that they will take the vast majority’s feelings into account and that things will improve when and only when it starts to effect their bottom line or maybe not even then as except for expansions the game seems to be on permeant maintenance mode.
Yes, this is a very cynical viewpoint but nothing over the last two years has proven to me otherwise. I’m looking at you spires.
That won’t happen in the current state. As long as they only know how to make chores instead of compelling activities, they’ll use carrots to make you do all the chores.
Oh did they finally change slamming so you pick the affix, and make regular crafting less swingy then say 1 to 15 points per affix chunk (forget the actual word) unless you use an item to get a small chance to have it cost zero?
It is possible to choose your affixes in the new season, yes. Crafting still requires using a 25% chance scroll to avoid cost, but overall the crafting system is superior.
Season 11 will be Pit reborn, core skills buff and maybe the start of the skill tree rework.
Ok, I am guessing here.
The rework of core skills got mentioned and because we get basic skill buffs in season 9, core skills should come next, so maybe even season 10.
The skill tree rework was mentioned in the season 8 campfire chat and there is a short YouTube video about that, but we don’t know how long it takes. Season 11 or 12 is a good guess.
As for activities rework, Whispers in season 7, Bosses in season 8, NMDs in season 9, Infernal Hordes in Season 10, the Undercity is only for VoH, so the Pit could be next, that would be season 11.
Season 9 should start next month, so we are talking about a bit over 6 month from now.
Maybe, but what activity could they do before the Pit?
Helltides had been reworked and will be in the future, but are we there yet?
Dark Citadel and Kurast Undercity are both VoH only.
I would think both gets included to the main game when the next expansion gets released, maybe shortly before that.
Let’s say expansion 2 gets released with season 14 (season 13 in the summer is not ideal and season 12 is maybe a bit early), than season 13 could be the rework of citadel, undercity and mercenaries and include everything in the base game such that we can start with only 2 different versions with the next expansion.
Pit should’ve been fixed yesterday
Small fixes are possible with every season or every major patch.
They could reduce the time to 10 minutes again.
This way the boss fights would be shorter.
And didn’t the devs introduced a new tower/pylon/trab with the season 9 PTR that binds us? This will be in the pit as well.
Little changes like that are making the pit and other content more interesting as well.
They can rework all they want. Until all endgame activities allow for similar difficulty scaling, they wont be equal parts of endgame.
For gameplay, it should see the same rework as all other activities; more diversity, more random stuff having a chance to happen inside the dungeon to spice up the runs (like Butcher was a genuinely nice concept at release), different types of monsters and monster affixes that actually makes a difference in how you fight them, better map generation, and so on.
The marketing tool is doing exactly what it was designed to do.
It got you to log in so they could try to sell you something. Anything else is a happy accident. Best thing you can do is to move on and hope enough others do the same. Only then will effective change happen.
