Why are poison-based enemies 5000% deadlier than anything else?

Kills 4 poison elite mobs in a hallway…,.

Waits 15 seconds for the puddles to disappear from the floor….

I wonder if my effects last that long after death? I also wonder if any of my skills last that long while I am alive?

What is worse is playing with a sorceress who is laying down freeze or fire which hides the poison puddles and you run into it without knowing it is there…

Throw vault traps into the mix and you can’t see anything at all. A++ game design right here. And now you know why they upped the stacks to 10 per pearl inside vaults.

Sorry, couldn’t miss the opportunity.

It’s called “balancing your game around maximum numbers”. And it’s a terrible way to balance a game, PoE suffers from it greatly as well for the elemental resistances (the only working resistance PoE has is Chaos). To the point where people come up with some overly complicated math to tell you that having x% more than base max (75%) blocks however much. And it could pretty much be simplified to “75% is 0, 76% is 5” and so on up to 90 when you actually get to 75%.

It’s those exploding spider host dudes. They do insane poison damage when they die and explode. Just move or roll away as they are doing that and you’ll miss most of those stupid hits.

Like everything else in this game, it’s overtuned, and undertested.

Normal poison spiders explode instantly on death and poison you. How do I dodge that with a melee class?

Poison and other DOT abilities are rough because they stack, have a decently long duration and in higher tiers do high amounts of damage per stack.

The spiders are no where near as bad as the hosts. Remember to get your poison res to max (especially in wt4). Also, when your orb turns green, it is still health. You are not going to die unless there is no red left and you let the green drain down. Back away and heal (it can take a few pots).
