Which ARPGs do you actually play?

In no order of preference:

  • D4 (enjoyment waning)
  • D2 Resurrected
  • Grim Dawn
  • Van Helsing Final Cut
  • Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr

Pumped for:

  • Titan Quest 2
  • POE2

Currently D4.
I have D2 Resurrected on my Switch (Have not played the game in a long long time, still good though).

I’m not interested in any other game- - -

However as I am an Nintendo fan boy (lol) when Ever they launch the next Nintendo System, I’ll probably spend my time on that.

poe, still best game out there

Is POE free to play?

Who knows I may give it a swing, so I can have a proper opinion/comparison to both games.

After all, there is no harm in playing multiple games.

  • D4 – enjoyment increasing
  • D2 – returned after D2R, barely touched it after 2003
  • D1 – sometimes (vanilla for nostalgia or TH2 mod)
  • Titan Quest – several playthroughs, but it was only fun with players6 mod, I can’t find the same mod for the new releases and since they are technically so much improved I can’t force myself to play the old version. So I don’t play it anymore at all.

I’m not that much of an ARPG fan. It’s mostly Diablo thing that tips the scales. And generally not much of a gamer. Once in a while something pulls me in (usually old stuff), but then I can play nothing for months.

beside everything what others try to tell you, yes it is free to play. You can download and play it without buying anything. If you like it you can buy stash tabs (theyre often in sale) and you can have long time fun for less money than D4 price.
It will take time to get into the game and understand stuff but if you get the hang of it you can have fun for a long time

Buy Stash Tabs? How many Stash tabs they give you to start out with? And how much is it to buy stash tabs?

Sounds like at least that should be a QoL feature? ?

i dont know, i started around 6 years ago and have no idea with how many you begin, you have to google it or start it yourself. There are different stash tabs for QoL like one where you can store curency, league items or just normal ones for everything. Cost (not in sale) between 5-10€.
Most are not needed, definitly not if you just start. You can buy them from time to time if you feel the need to have one.
I have maybe spend like 50€ in stash tabs (maybe more depends on sales) but i have played over 6 years so its fairly cheap

It’s a “free” to play game. Those are the types of things f2p games put in the cash shop.

Nintendo, BOTW/TOTK are the gold standard.

D2R
PoE (GOD tier aRPG)
Grim Dawn

Waiting for:
PoE2

Gave up on:
D4. I liked it until they decide to make it more MMO and less aRPG with expansion.

You can play PoE for free long enough to know if you like it or not. If you would like it (I think it is not for you, it is by far most complicated aRPG I´ve ever played, if you are not super pro, you will be lost without guide) you have to buy stashes. With disscount (pretty often) 30e should be enought for all important.

Stashes can be considered as QoL. But without them managing normal stash is really chore, unplayble for me and every other PoE nonnewbie.

D4 and Metaphor: ReFantazio.

The game has taught me that Fantasy can die. I’m still not sure how that’s possible but I’m learning.

D2 will always be number 1 for me but honestly I’ve had a blast with all those games

I loved the torchlight games as well and hades
And darkest dungeon I put on the list as well because the tone is Diablo like

I can only focus on 1-2 games. For playing all the games on your list i need days with 78 hours minimum.

Actually only playing DIV. Must grind to lvl 300. Cant stop :see_no_evil:

Funy to see how most people always talk about Darkest Dungeon 1 and almost noone about DD2. Was participate in EA with lots of feedback all focus on give us progress and less roguelite. They didn´t listen and now DD1 has more players than DD2.

  • D4 (enjoyment high)
  • Will probably dabble with d2r if some old mates are playing next ladder reset, but d4 will stay my main game.
  • Will probably play LE once im done with season 6 while waiting for season 7.

Maybe I’ll look up you tube videos about it. That usually helps me decide.

Other then that , I’m starting to see a bunch of ARPG’s out there… Hmmm…

D4 - mainly.
LE - occasionally when frustrated with D4.
