Which aRPG you played had best end-game?

Poe was great at the time. Then i played d3 about season 17+. Last Epoch has lots of replay value for alts but when i hit 100 its over. They could use a master level or paragon system. Borderlands is fun too but its a looter shooter. Guild Wars etc all good from the olden times hehe

not in any order but i liked grim dawn, poe , poe 2 last epoch after some reworks etc

Not a fan of ā€œendgameā€ per se, but if I were to choose one would be probably something like a combination of LE and GD

LE cause of the dynamically generated maps and variety of ā€œobjectivesā€ in them and GD mainly cause of thematic or theme-based (use key) dungeons… Combine the two and IMO would be probably the most appropriate outcome

It’s statements like these that throw me off.

The entire loot generator, the center of the game, is gambling with your time. How do you play these games?!

Easily Diablo 1, because the end game was just being able to beat Diablo on Hell difficulty and then you were pretty much done as there wasn’t any infinitely scaling nonsense. The end is what defines the whole experience. When I quit PoE or Diablo 2+, it’s not on a high note, it’s because I’ve been completely worn down and bored after passing the high point I didn’t know I hit. It just goes on and on and on. It’s designed around FOMO, but I know no fear…of missing out.

Right, the point is it should never feel like you’re gambling with your time. There is a hard line between having an enjoyable rewarding experience and feeling like you spent the past few hours walking around shaking a box rocks.

I stop reading after

Its show how tasteless you are. Sorry

This one. Loved it and also Sacred 1.
Blind Guardian ā€œconcertā€ included.

It had such a huge world. But my game for some reason kept crashing and I couldn’t even finish the campaign.

exactly, this is the definition of end-game, which sadly D4 devs do not understand…
regarding D3 GreaterRifts, there was the same, but showing your strenght in party push. e.g. you are trash killer then you need to create progress, you are boss killer the you need to kill boss at the end in good time…
