These were pretty much universally hated in D3. They eventually added QoL to them to make them bearable, but even then you barely have to do them and can even split farm them in a group.
Bro, you’re defending an item hunting game that doesn’t have any interesting items to even go after; developed it as a group meta and then decided there was no reason to add a group finding feature to it.
Do you know how silly you sound?
Stick head out of the sand maybe then? Plenty of games which sold millions and got player ratings in rang of 30-40 / 100, lol. But if you play just blizzard games, how would you possible know how world works. Open your eyes and do some research if you want to discuss things with me. I was playing game while you still was in diapers.
Yeah I didn’t say people enjoyed them. I was just replying to the guy saying they added quests from WoW aspects. It’s always been a part of Diablo.
Game’s fine and will only get better, yall are just a bunch of babies.
I get what you are saying , my complain is that they had a good canvas (d1, d2, d3) and they did not even try to take from all that and add to d4 and of course add some new things. They simply ignore so many things and maybe that is why i feel that the game feels like a beta version rather then a full game release.
It has great graphics , good story / cinematic but lacking in every other aspects.
As for the huge numbers of copies sold, i mean this is Diablo game … it still has and it will have a strong fan base. (i may not like the d4 as much as the other releases of Diablo but i will probably still buy a D5, what can i say …)
I mean I have 500’ish hours on my rogue alone, some people enjoy it, some don’t. That’s ok if you don’t like the game, don’t play? People on here act like blizzard is forcing them to play or something. You can literally uninstall the game, if you’re down that bad for $70 dollars then you shouldn’t be playing games probably lol.
You just offered an opinion, and a hope. Neither of those are subjective.
i thought they said this is an mmo?
Well, of course. And in the meantime I will continue to help critique the game and get it to a working state. I understand that there are a few people out there that would defend and enjoy a watching paint dry simulator.
This doesn’t take away from the fact that they put out an item hunting game without any interesting items, and a group meta without a group finder. I also can’t seem to get any people that say they enjoy the game to explain why they enjoy the game in any kind of specific manner. Just obtuse generalities.
And that speaks volumes.
I mean in my 500 hours I’ve had a lot of fun and still play daily. I mainly PvP, do Lilith / NM 100 carries, try new builds. Feels no different than D3 to me, I just grind for upgrades, yeah that takes a lot of time but that’s nothing new in a dungeon grinding game. Most of the people complaining are nowhere near BIS but claim they are.
Also here’s a short search for threads on people enjoying the game, 100’s more if you use the search. People just love complaining on here, it’s the minority of players. 10 million copies sold and maybe a couple hundred crying on here.
All right, so let me get this straight. You think grinding for .001% stat stick increases, which chances become infinitesimally smaller and smaller the closer you get to perfection, is fun?
I mean, to each of their own I guess. Like I said, there would be a few people out there that enjoy a watching paint dry simulator. Or perhaps you were one of the people that thought Diablo 3 was great, a month into seasons.
The way this game is going, they will end up with the same population Diablo 3 had at the end, but by season 2. With a few people like you standing around cheering how great it is.
This is their future unless they divert
What part did you not understand “Loop”.
The more popular term is endgame. Loop usually means after all the story progression, you are only left with repetition of replay. This is where they made the mistake.
Power progression is the identity of Diablo’s loop. In D4, the power progression stops at level 60. There are only a few benefactors that require a 820+ item power.
Also, the only unique that provides a potential to a build is Razorplate. It opens a new opportunity to empower a build. While the rest of the uniques is more of a minor improvements. Shako might be the second one because it’s the only item that allows you to have more than 5 skill points into basic attacks. Now you can dive into the potential of building a basic attack build.
So, the investment into the loop gameplay isn’t that satisfying. We also don’t have crafting or any other options either. Enchanting doesn’t open a new window of power progression.
One doth project too much
It’s actually not like that, that’s just the echochamber on here that you got that from. Please link me your characters armor, I know you don’t have perfect 4/4 items or anywhere close to it. My 500 hour rogue isn’t even close. But please continue to make stuff up.
Like I said before, if you don’t enjoy dungeon grinding in a dungeon grinding game, then it’s not for you, go play something else and stop crying. But like everyone else before that I’ve asked this question to for proof, you’ll avoid it and move the goal post or say you quit weeks ago because “theres no end game blah blah”
I enjoy good arpgs. That consists of not just minor stat stick upgrading, but lateral meta builds that take a lot of time to achieve. Something to build. Like a Tesladin in D2. A good arpg also has varied content that certain builds or characters can more efficiently complete than others. And this varied content offers varied target farming. Like javazon was to cows.
Calling it in and just having minor stat stick upgrades is a pitfall they should have learned from via D3 getting stuck in the same thing. But they didn’t. Either way, there will be a small group of people like you who enjoy this mediocrity, instead of my above explanation of how a functioning ARPG plays.
Oh wow another dodge, just like the rest of the people I ask to see your gear.

Typical. Let me guess, never made it out of WT3? Or maybe made it to around 70’ish?
This is a small subset of the overall players doing this, and I bet a lot of them don’t even play, and are just trolling.
How gullible are you that you believe them?
Imagine thinking you can shift the topic to be about my gear to avoid the conversation on whether finding minor stat stick upgrades is fun or not. Not going to work with me. Try again.
Still refusing to respond to the substantive illustration of why this game is mediocre compared to functioning ARPGs.

No I’m just proving a point that you’re repeating what you’ve heard from the minority echo chamber on this forum and have no clue how the actual game works. You’ve never seen end game and no where near close to BiS but claim you can only find 0.001% upgrades, which is just a lie lol.
Still refusing to respond to the substantive illustration of why this game is mediocre compared to functioning ARPGs.
I never said it wasn’t? I’m saying Diablo is Diablo, this game is no different than D3 and actually has more things to do, you guys just love complaining and comparing apples to oranges. If you enjoy something like PoE or Lost Ark then go play those? Why are you on here crying wanting D4 to turn into another game? Are you new to diablo or just love complaining?
