…do they sell that information to all interested buyers? Since having it listed when registering for this game, I have been getting loads of additional spam calls. How do I turn this “Blizzard Feature” off?
The only reason Blizzard would want your phone number is for the authenticator, I bought D4 without needing to attach my phone to it.
I severely regret doing that
The correct answer is - 867-5309
I say, “grrrl, don’t give that man your number!”
No, they don’t. They have had my number for something like 15 years. Zero texts, spam, or anything else related to it.
I get the usual spam about my car warranty from spoofed local numbers, but that is not related to Blizz.
The number is used by Blizz to send you a text (with your permission if you sign up for it) about account changes. It also lets you remove your authenticator yourself if you have issues with it. Needed now to set up the Authenticator and to play some of their free games.
I regret registering my phone to blizzard as much as that time I decided to mix eggnog +bacon+ redbull +bourbon for breakfast.
Blizzard did not sell your number and has nothing to do with any spam calls you are getting.
I respectfully disagree
Then feel free to remove your number from your account.

It is done through Account Management here on the website.
This is most helpful, thank you
Just because they don’t currently sell your information, doesn’t mean they won’t sell it in the future.
Im sure they do. The lack of morals of Blizzard inc suggests they would sell customers personal information.
Well, we never know what will happen in the future, that is true.
They have never sold our info in the past, and don’t now. If that were to change then the info I let them have would change.
We have the ability to remove our personal info and close our Bnet accounts, but you lose the licenses on it.
That is a very very bad idea that would destroy any trust left in the company. It is also illegal in a lot of places. They are not that stupid, and I hope that never changes.
While possible (more than a few corporations have been caught doing shady crap like this) I doubt Blizzard is selling your info to 3rd parties given the legal nightmare it opens up for them in many, many countries.
It’s more likely you made someone mad who signed you up for loads of crap or a collections agency sold your info (they do that kind of crap).
Smart enough to not get caught but not enough faith in the company to dismiss this accusation
You left out the raw egg…wimp
Jenny’s mine! Stop posting her number on the bathroom walls you hooligan!
2fac authentication and account recovery. It’s common on a lot of sites now.
And no one else could’ve possibly gotten your phone number?
blizz is the only company that’s ever got my number and i live in a french place.
