I’d really like %damage affix to go away. Theres nothing exciting about %damage
- Remove guaranteed perfect stats on uber uniques
- Remove uber unique crafting
- Increase the drop rate of uber uniques in open world and dungeons
- Add hidden safety net mechanisms for certain item drops
- Remove material requirements for most of the bosses (bosses should always have their own dungeon)
There are 100000 others things to change, but currently it’s difficult to enjoy the game because of the way how über uniques are designed.
Remove uber uniques in their current state as they are not even remotely balanced across classes and builds. For example, you need Tempest Roar for you build? No shako for you. Meanwhile another class gets to slot multiple weapons plus a shako. Instead add 3 slots (or whatever number) for uber items. IDK maybe a belt and the buckle has slots for 3 gems. You get a shako gem you just slot it and keep your current helm.
Now, let’s say you had that 100km race to run, except before running that race, you had to wait 24 hours AT the start line before being able to run it, it could essentially be time gated.
Probably the better example of time gating content would be Neverwinter online. Each of the campaigns is time gated by daily quests that only grant a small portion of the currency required to advance to the next portion of the campaign (I’m speaking from mod11 through to decent into avernus).
Once you reach the next milestone of that campaign, well, do it again. Some of the quests are once per week……
So not only did you have time gates, but also resource gates and if you really didn’t want the grind, well, you could always pay money for an auto complete of the campaign………
One of the campaigns was a full month+ to complete and that was being on time every time for all the dailies…… ![]()
Massive removal of possible affixes
Less affixes possible
Much less loot drops, and I mean lot less
More variation in quality you find on a given level
All meant so you can actually enjoy something good dropped every now and then. Something you feel it makes a difference.
Why do you want less loot to drop? That makes zero sense.
- Consolidate affixes
- Less loot drops
- Codex for saving legendary aspecs
- Item crafting. Extract affix from item (destroying it) to get some matts or something. Update similar affix roll on other item using that matt. Ability to gain more affixes on item.
- Unique items rework
Remove item power and remove legendaries , give back the powers to the character skill trees. Then they shouls get a copy of d2 and check out the itemization , learn from it expand it make it better.
drop 70% less items.
Make blues usable and enchantable (Make them roll much larger percentages)
get rid specific (While you’re using this weapon) bs.
Simplified stats options (25% dmg to vulnerable enemies should just say 25% vulnerable)
Add charms or jewels, Truly unique random stats to actually separate a player from another. something to always hunt for.
Crafting matts similar to PoE that adds options to crafting.
(add random affix, replace random affix, buff random affix)
I would like to see them cut the number of affixes by 50%. Like you said, combine any of the similar affixes that currently work only under some conditions into ones that work under any conditions. Like crit and damage. Eliminate all the useless affixes that no one wants and only serve to water down the reroll pool.
I like keeping 4 affixes on Ancestral Legendaries but would be OK with Sacred just having 3.
I would like to be able to roll 2 of the 4 affixes at the Occultist.
Make more Unique items modeled after D2 items. Make a couple more Ubers.
Revisit the drop pools for the uber bosses and eliminate overlap. The Beast in Ice, in particular, has a very diluted loot drop pool.
Make the new ubers related to the boss that drops them by tying their name into the bosses’ name. For example: The Lance of Inarius
I eagerly await the PTR to see Blizzard’s take on Itemization 2.0.
First, I never said anything about waiting 24 hours to start the race.
Secondly, in your example you’d be absolutely right in calling that time gated.
Now I don’t know if we can call a scheduled event as time gated. Like, what if there’s a marathon like in the US where they shut down a city and thousands of people show up to run. Where is that New York? Anyway, that specific race happens once a year. It’s clearly scheduled in advance and you have to sign up in advance so you know you’re gonna do it.
In that instance, do we call that time gated or is that more like a video game release date?
Because currently you can find a new and very very very slightly better item almost every minute. If you take the time to even look at every yellow that drops. It completely removes all excitement of finding loot.
If you get your wish i will probably quit D4.
Stat specialization is fun for me, what is not is the way we customise and roll stats and find stats we want.
That said a few minor consolidations i am okay with. But making it have less depth is not the answer.
Overall, it needs better craft able stats, and more interesting and viable loot, magical items that have unique stats, and perhaps item power and stat rolls brackets need adjustments as getting trash items all the time is unrewarding, when its item 925 and a 720 has max rolls but its a 720, its just bonkers and a time sink to sort bad loot from good loot.
I like the stat choices as this offers me the chance to make a character play how i want more, and less “Fixed” to mainstream synergies. However the current sorting, crafting and enchanting of all this feels crap. Sockets are also less interesting as there is nothing fun to add to them apart from more stats.
I want Elemental gems, runes, you know a bit of flavour and fun and variety to building magical weapons would add depth and be cool.
Do i expect much in this roll out, not really, but gutting content helps the game become more boring for short term gains.
It would also be more rewarding if more stats actually scaled properly so this is a different issue which is why i say it wont really fic anything to gut stats, it only forces meta and makes the game useless, at which point just makes 5 builds and we play viable only game or sets and be done with it, i dont need more illusions and imaginary content.
I want them to fix the game.
Grimdawn is seriously good sheeeesh
it is good , they even added dash so its like d4 now
just wish it had the production of D4 and Diablo lore. I rate it over LE for gameplay and classes. Graphics it falls behind sadly.
I think the update should provide features that are on par with 10 yr old POE and the indie studio game Last Epoch. Itemization, crafting, skills/build variety, end game (dungeons/vaults could have been Diablos maps/monolith), ststs, attributes, gems, stash tabs, everything. There is no excuse for a title like Diablo not to be on par or exceed those games.
Yea d4 should of added a gunslinger class they would have deffinatly went up to at least 2 stars in my books… screw the new spirit shaman class we getting if they added a gunslinger class sheeeesh id probably play
Yea d4 is ironically the most anti arpg… arpg
So filter out the stuff you don’t want to see.
Whether they nail itemization or not, the game still has another 99 problems heh. I’d like to see consolidated stats, sick of seeing so many variations that do the same thing but make it a nightmare finding the right piece for a certain build. I have zero confidence in Blizzard to do anything right thermse days, so we’ll wait and see what happens.
