What's up with Uber duriel's drops?

Idk? I got a Soulbrand and X’Fal’s at once last night, they’re both normal. I guess there’s a theory that the second one should be an Uber?

I’m not really expecting an Uber or anything. The loop to get to the bosses is too boring to want to go again and again, but that would be nice too lol.

“Ohh yea man my last six runs were different I got double x unique instead of an Uber” drake no face

“Ahh, yes, while conducting the field test in which I conquered the challenging bug boss within the spooky dungeon, I have observed a duplicate of a standard unique that was not an Uber unique as was previously standard”
Drake yes face

I got a GG pair of flickerstep boots last night. I was very happy. All the others were 2.8 sec or less. This pair was 4.0. Also got a 1.9 bold chieftain ring. Someone in chat offered me his shako for it, lol.

Not dropping multiple normal unique anymore. It was common before.

Flickerstep keeps ONLY dropping at 2.8 roll for myself and guildies. We decided they had a GIANT 2.8 overstock of the things at the virtual warehouse.

yeah I think I got those shoes in lieu of a uber drop lol

I have the opposite problem. I get zero ubers, which I guess in a way means I keep getting the same type of uber category drops?

@apache222, I’m with you. The most exciting drop I had was also a 1.9 Bold Chieftain drop!

The truth is no can has the data unless you buy runs or dupe.

It’s just impossible to have a large data set without cheating.

nothing happened, uber drops are just set to 0.

I’m actually kind of surprised the marketing team hasn’t proudly announced how many duriels have been killed since S2.

You don t need more data. It was like 1 run on 10 that duriel was dropping a second unique. On 80runs it never dropped 2 unique at same time. But it dropped 2 ubers for other party members. So yes it s nerfed. If it had a chance that the second unique can be an uber unique now that chance doesnt exists anymore.

I get when people spell it as “alot” (still wrong), but “allot”?

My condolences.

ran 3 in a row couple days ago got 4 Godslayer Helms. Was thinking maybe uniques are time based. So now I dont run back to back anymore.

if you spell it a looot you could be Canadian

Guaranteed 925 isn’t even all that great. I got a Banished Lord’s Talisman from Duriel then almost immediately after a Treasure Goblin dropped one with a lower power level but much better rolls. Same thing has happened with a few other gears I got like the new necro ring.

I am 100% convinced this is a bug, and if you got double unique drops without getting an uber, you just got screwed on an uber. This would make so much sense.

It took me 161 runs to get my first uber. It was a double-drop. It took another 8 runs for me to get the second uber; it was a double-drop. I never had a double-drop prior to those.

Since that last uber drop, I have run 93 more times without another uber. Along the way, I’ve had 3 instances of double-drop without an uber. If those 3 instances yielded an uber, then I’d have 5 ubers in 262 runs, which would be ~2%.

This would totally explain for why we have reports of such wild uber RNG stories. Why some people seemingly are getting ubers on schedule while others are so far off schedule. And given all the issues with Helltides, I’m not convinced there is not an issue.

That helmet drops like every day… annoying.

This is what I was thinking.
That’s why I wanted to see if other people were getting double unique drops, as I had only ever heard of it recently

I’d love to collect more data for you. If I could run 10 fing K runs, I would. And, if we had access to more data, I’d love to see.

Unfortunately, all we have is anecdotal evidence, but there’s mountains of it. I scroll through my Google feed and everyday there’s several articles from a PC website or Reddit post about some insanely long streak of Duriel runs without an uber.

That has to account for something. I mean, maybe the data suggests all is well, but there’s more than enough shared player experience that suggests otherwise.

My experience thus far was no uber until run 161. If my 2% drop rate was on schedule, I should have had 3 ubers by that time. I did manage to break streak like 8 runs later, but since then it’s been another 97 runs without an uber (yes, did 1 ROTA since last time I posted). My personal drop rate is 0.8%.

Only ten thousand times?

We need a 5 sigma certainty here, it’s a game we’re talking about! At least a million samples.

Joking aside, if Blizzard tested anything ten thousand times we’d have a solid game here in front of us. First time around.
