Not so ‘small’ a delay OR technical issue, it would seem.
You know when you use language like this in your communication, you set wrong expectation for people and that increase their frustration.
Next time, be open and use ‘unknown delay due to a technical issue’. Because obviously if you could determine the issue was small, it would have meant you knew the fix and time to implement. At this point it is clear this was not known.
