I mean … I was kind of annoyed our character was like: “I’ll never take your hand! I’ll never help or join you!” — Like um … That’s not what I wanted to say at all. My character doesn’t really feel like ‘my’ character now
At the very least they could had been witty about refusing her: “Tempting offer, but the risks are too high … I’m inclined to decline your offer. You’ve caused too much ruin & misery with your influences, no better than your father. Perhaps after your time out reforming in hell, we can revisit your offer.”
Whoa, that’s a low blow.
No - Shadowlands was waaaaay worse. They retconned so so, soooo much lore & twisted so much of the beloved storylines to elevate their failing characters & lame storyline whims - It was disgusting. They literally wiped their asses with our money that we had spent on books to strengthen knowledge on the lore (of which many of us were actually rather passionate about), and deemed it all worthless.
At best, I’d like to say it was just Inarius’s decisions of free-will, that were a tad far from good, along with his pride, anger & resentment of his own decisions. If he’s reborn in the future, personally I hope he’s redeemed and sees Sanctuary isn’t an abomination but reminds him of one of his own – Auriel, a symbol of hope.
It’d be pretty cool if Inarius was reborn as a human, with ‘divine element’ in spirit (Like Tyrael) but then seemingly sacrifices himself to save Sanctuary & finds himself in angelic form again with a gateway to heaven open, having redeemed himself not only in the eyes of his creation but Heaven too.
… Now as for the church being not-so-friendly, I’d say that’s just zealotry getting out of hand – Which really can happen with any belief, whether its religious or political (or both).
I myself even made a callout thread to give hats off honours to them for that -
As for
Yeah I always find that to be an overused trope by Blizzard and honestly? Kind of a boring one at that. lol
Donan’s grief legit pulled my heartstrings. Like it was very intense the voice acting, I seriously can’t emphasise that enough.
And the conversation with Mephisto who just straight up tells you that you’re gonna be enemies later but an alliance of convenience should still be held
Hoping they reflect heaven being more on the true-good allignment scales, whether it’s:
- Lawful Good
- Neutral Good
or - Chaotic Good
I found the angels at least being on par with one of the above, but each one having their own beliefs & personalities that differ from the rest of their kind - To be rather clever writing and makes them much more intriguing as both characters and more satisfying conceptually in the lore.
Angels & Demons being on the ‘Neutral’ alignment scales can be extremely intriguing if the writing is done right – But rather annoying if done wrong. So I’d say its best for them to ultimately keep on their stereotypical-scales to be safe. Although a sway from one to the other in moments of need, can generally be forgiven – I feel like that’s done well with Mephisto & made him rather charming yet more frightening.
