Honest question.
With all the troubles this game has had, what keeps you playing?
I never get burnt out on this game because it’s not the only game I play so a lot of the things that make ppl crazy with this game don’t really bother me

Even despite its problems, as long as it runs (big if sometimes) it’s still good in small doses.
Everything, there is always new challange to overcome, every tiny tweak can make you go higher, i dont know maybe some day i hit a wall too like many others, but until then i keep coming back

Haven’t played since pre-season-1.
I like the builds i play. i am not trying to min/max. if i get to the point that i cant develop my character without effort i am unwilling to pursue then i make a diff character/build.

the action and combat of a build that feels fun to play. I Enjoy making builds the most and playing with the mechanics and systems, however in it’s current state as a fan of the original affix’s, I feel limited in some ways, but worse, is i cannot play a character in a challenging campaign while building, since with rare and tempers alone, I can easily OP expert, and forced to abandon campaign to go to Penitent.
So I do appreciate the foundation of this update, it’s got holes, and sadly hindering the enjoyment a little, since I load up got excited to run the campaign with the new difficulty tiers and just hit disappointment.
So yeah the combat is all that keeps me going, until the grind halts me and I play shorter bursts or roll a new class at that point, But yeah I am hitting put down until S7 after like a week so, yeah if the basics where in better shape, I would play more and buy the Xpac.
As is though even on the current sale, I was close, but cannot justify it’s price, for less i can buy remanent 2 and lords of the fallen for example, or two weeks get ea to poe2.
It pains me to but D4 on the backburner, but it is what it is, unless the game improves, what it serves each season.
Grateful for the foundation of D4 the graphics, the combat are fun, finally having a working barb build that is exciting to play, I love tempering but need more options in tempers and affix rolls at occultist. Since that build crafting was engaging imo, it was just too messy originally, doesn’t mean there wasn’t good stuff there.
I mean i hate to compare but watching POE 2 and the blood orb mechanic, just makes me wonder wth is going on with NMD. After this long we cannot get a single new mod,no whisper Qol key selection, is disappointing and I hope its on the table at least. But man they need resources pulled away from that dumb cosmetics shop and put it into the gameplay.
Otherwise D4 is now a day at the club playing slots and buying fancy armor with 0 gameplay… no thanks.
If i didnt like a game the last thing id do??? Going on a forum about that game. Hoe silly can one be?

You know what is FAR more silly? Worrying about what other people that you don’t know are doing with their spare time. I’m here for the recently juicy threads.

Not really much, nowadays I log on to see if I can progress my barb before the crash of this unstable pos. When it crashes I go play something else. And I have stabilized my game more than others.
This is social question/answer why some people play still:
- addicted players (there will be always)
- angry teenagers (there will be always)
- streamers (there will be always)
- people who believe that this game is good
I’m new so I have a little bit more before I’m completely burned out.
I want to hit 300 paragon while I can farm pit 100s. I don’t think I’ll have the patience again.
Even though I am a Sorcerer main,
I do like to play other classes especially if the play style looks cool enough.
I love copying builds to try out how fun different classes can be.
I start the season as my sorcerer collecting gear, gold, mats etc etc that’ll transfer to other alts I’ll eventually make. By the time I’m ready to move on to an alt, Streamers already have builds that I may be interested in playing, so I’ll make an alt using a build I choose.
I play that build and farm more mats, gold etc etc… Especially looking for mythic Uniques.
Then I make another alt from another class (or) may play a different sorcerer. I’ve been doing this since the Start. I enjoy this (I Enjoy it enough at least).
I don’t personally have a problem with other people playing other games, Good for them.
*(However- them coming here and saying “this and that” (as well as complaining so much) get’s highly irritating after a while and I find myself usually in a heated argument with whom ever it may be.
NO -, I don’t understand and will never understand why people who no longer play this game, They play Other games and do other things STILL COME to this forum and down play other peoples enjoyment. I can’t wrap my head around it.

still have yet to start playing D4. Got it as a gift and not sure I’d like it considering D3 was too simple and not complex enough. I also hated the auction house system so I know I’d hate D4.

Youd hate D4 because it has no AH because you hate AH? Makes perfect sense to hate something that has nothing that you hate.
It’s still fun. Sometimes patches bring some cool new things. I have a rl friend who has always played more casually than me and this game is an excuse to kill stuff and chat.
My initial hopes, that I would approach this like other Diablo games, play multiple classes long term, and take each to a pretty high level of power, have been completely dashed, due to stash space, imbalance, constant re-itemization, nerfs that literally destroy builds, etc.
So it’s very unlikely after this amount of time that this game will ever be in a state where I’ll want to play it constantly again. And it will probably be the last Diablo game I purchase, at least on good faith alone.

Makes no sense right? Using a previous game to ignorantly attack it’s successor. Just trying to blend in with all the poe haters.
I think it’s because this game is at the bottom of my list of hobbies I’m currently spending my time on, so it doesn’t get stale too quickly for me; it used to be near the top.
Just coz of certain things about the game and about the Rogue class in general that are not as much fun as before, so my playtime has been waning.
PLUS! with the change in weather and the holidays approaching, gardening and switching my cooking from summer fare to cold weather comfort food is kicking into high gear.
Bust out the Crock Pot!!!..SO many recipes to make…YUM!!!

I’m at paragon 270 so it’s lord of the rings journey to 300 while my glyphs are as high as their gonna get so the pits just an exp grind. I can do the activities to farm obducite to try to triple or at least double crit some of my items desired stats but the increase in power will only be a little bit and will just allow me to level paragon a miniscule amount faster. This is the endgame Blizzard has provided me with.
So I’m afk a lot even when I am logged in.
