What is the verdict for you all after 1.1.1?

I feel that my sorcerer is in a good spot now. Speedrunning level 55 dungeons with my blizzard/frozen orb build at level 80. I am a lot tankier now, using some of our new defensive options, but still dishing out more damage than my level 100 sorcerer on eternal realm (thanks barber!)

I don’t know the other classes as well as sorc so I cant speak in detail but if they are overpowered for the current content then yes.

Id love to and already would have but I’m not a high enough level on the forum yet….

No need to prove myself though. There’s enough others here agreeing. Instead of thinking everyone else is a liar because you can’t figure it out, you’d help yourself more by asking the right questions. Look up my posts friend I’ve talked about my gear setup and stuff. It will help you.

I have 6000 armor, 6000 attack, 5000 life. I am level 82 and i cant get past LV 43 NM. I get 1 shot by elites all the elites are moving so fast that cant keep away from them and they will not freeze. I have level 9 frost nova, level 8 blizzard, level 5 ice shards, flame shield and ice shield. I am running iceshard build so when elite move that fast i cant do anything. Before update i was running LV 40s NM and had no issue. I think the update bug my character. So i decided to quit. I do have 60 perecnt lucky hit, 200 overpower, 160 crit damage, 40 crit chance, but only 40 vulnerable. Maybe i will come back in few months and try again.

Update: After redownloading the game I have had no issues of yet. I also deleted my old sigils and started with new. So, no one shots anymore, small enemy and elites move normal speeds and they freeze for more than 1 sec like they suppose too. I havnt changed any of my gear. The last update most likely glitch the NM sigils not my character. Another friend of mine said he had same issue and he junked all of his old sigils and created new ones. He hasnt had an issue since either.

I feel like that’s a low amount of life for level 80 but may be wrong. A lot of aspects and nodes had their DR values buffed considerably, are you leveraging those at all? The seasonal hearts also provide some nice defenses.

Sorcs can be fairly tanky now but you may have to sacrifice some damage.

Does this work just add an H in front?

Guess it does. Just a small random clip but you’ll get the point I guess.

Or like this. I’m not that handy with this stuff haha.

Sorc seems to be OK for speed running, clearing lots of trash, particularly anything thats not unstoppable … but both defenses & single target damage are still the worst in the game by a pretty large margin, and I dont see a good reason for why it should be that way. If damage was way up then I’d be fine with being squishy, but its just not.

What skills are you using for single target? I don’t find it too bad. It’s just more conditional than other classes. I can gun a single target with ice shards and not much happens. I put one Blizzard on top of them and I can drop almost anything with 1-2 casts of Ice Shards. The Blizzard adds crowd control plus additional damage from Hoarfrost, the first Ice Shards adds vulnerable which then adds even more damage from Icy Touch. The second cast will hit for like 250k per shard and kill almost anything. If the Blizzard freezes them instead of just chilling, even better because then the damage boost from Hoarfrost doubles. Even elites go down really quickly this way. They’re just harder to freeze because they’re faster and don’t stay in the Blizzard for very long.

Here’s my single target dmg on tier 100 boss. Note though this is without greater chain lighting which makes it weaker than it could be but I was testing some stuff.

verdict is, after switching to necro, I’d never turn back

everything is relative

Im just making a point that sorcerer is fine in it’s current state cause you can clear the highest tier with relative ease. It’s a good challenge in its current state and maybe a bit to easy still. If you’d ask me about what these videos show I’d say that’s broken and should be fixed asap.

Two things to note here, without Barber this would have taken you about twice as long and most of the other classes, even in eternal, can do it in less than half of that time.

Also, iirc. the Devs said that NDs are not even supposed to be that much of a ā€œhardcore endgame challangeā€.

Yes that’s true. But do you really want the highest tier boss to go down in 20 secs or less? Or do you want the game to have a challenge. Cause now it’s easy to do highest tier content with the ā€œweakestā€ class in the game. On eternal realm it’s a lot harder which to me is good cause you got somewhat of a challenge.

I haven’t once said sorc is on par with the other classes. If anything they will have to nerf the others or increase the difficulty of the game if they buff the sorc even further. I’ve tried the other classes for a while but got bored of how easy it was tbh.

Pronkg, may I introduce the option to play as the boar in WoW for you?

Seriously though, agree with all comments above.

Congrats on clearing 100. I mean that. However, although it’s doable within the season, it doesn’t mean things are great. Your ability bar consists of 1 core skill, 1 ultimate, and all 4 defensive skills. Your enchants are also boilerplate as they are the only good options for non-cold builds since you need the DR source from burning and you need the chill and vulnerable from FO.

My issue is there really aren’t many options to builds besides which core skill to use and which second enchant (since almost every build requires firebolt) to use to gain the things you miss by not using some other core skill. The sorcerer bar should just have two open slots and have all 4 defensives just permanently in place. We have all these other skills and we can’t use them since there’s simply no room on our bar because we have to carry all defensive options.

No other class has so much of their kit determined by the weaknesses of their class except for barbs. If you look at skill bars for other class builds, you’ll notice that they are very different from each other. There may be some similarities but it isn’t 4/6 buttons the same. They need to remove the need for these crutches and just fix the base class. If that means some of the power needs to be adjusted afterwards that’s fine. They’ll never have true build diversity until they remove the yoke of our defensive skills from our shoulders.
