You definetely don’t need frost nova to deal damage in WT 3. CL was good enough beyond lvl 50. WT 4 it fell somewhat off.
Patch is okay.
Sorc needs either a 3rd enchantment slot or can equip 3 rings.

Im lvl 70 and it completely wrecks. Honestly it just started doing really great damage once i got a Barber heart. Have you gotten that yet? It sucks but thats basically 100% your build enabler.
edit:
this is also because how barber functions (or bugged, i guess), since once you trigger barber basically all hits become critical hits, giving you a s-load of crackling energy giving you basically unlimited mana (which pairs too well with the change of mana bounce aspect).
Verdict should reflect the eternal server since hearts do not carry over.
Another way of answering your question.
This is just a day prior to patch 1.1.1. I am already using Reinforced, Territorial, and Warding here to get a feel of these glyphs before patch 1.1.1 hits.
I guess if you are already doing well and surviving prior to the patch, no point in adding more DR but since I get the extra DR for free from the buffed glyphs, I’ll take it.
Is it worth using these glyphs? Depends on your build. I think for my Conjurer Sorc the dps lost in comparison to more aggressive Glyphs is acceptable. When you have Barber plus Hydra, nothing is impossible.
I even beat Butcher here 3x.
totaly worthless patch for fire sorc , spitting on sorc players as usual.
No Barber, also have not gotten a single wrathful invoker yet. I just keep finding the same hearts over and over.
Any tips then? I played mostly Druid in Eternal and dabbled in Sorc and Necro before making a seasonal sorc. I’m currently at level 45 which is the highest I’ve gotten the class so far. I know crackling energy is a thing but I don’t generate any on my build and I dont have Barber which sounds like its the only thing really making the build shine.
Run from this game and run far. The update shows just how out of touch the game dev’s are in this game.
They gave sorcerer’s a patch that tells them you need to run 100% tank…Who thought forcing sorcerers to be tanks was a good idea?
We rolled sorc to blow stuff up and be glass cannons. Instead of fixing their gameplay they now force sorc’s to invest heavily into being tanks.
Its confusing and shows they are boomers.
I think at lvl 45 the basic fireball enchant and anything else you want to play will carry you very easily into early WT3. Then eventually through the late 50’s you will need to conform to the barrier/frost nova approach IMHO. There are of course many other ways to play through WT3, but of course the goal is quickly to get into WT4.
I do find it interesting in eternal seeing barbs and sorcs for the first time in a long time. Very high level 90’s. Everyone must be dusting off seeing how the patch is working. Even if the buff is not enough, it’s nice to see all 5 classes running around again…at least for now.
@Arsonist420, Well…you know…it’s kind of in line with the flavor. Do this, and get XYZ skill you normaly wouldn’t get. Necro gets blizzard skeletons. The entire druid class is basically get unique item, be able to do this other skill tree skill.
So…the flavor is actually consistent. Play Sorc, but get to play tank class. Lol.
Been using the Fireball and Chain Lightning enchants so far, kinda wish the fireball one did full damage but it is what it is.
I do have the key chain lightning aspects, tether and recharge, so casting is usually pretty consistent.
After playing a pulverize druid though it just doesn’t have that satisfying “blow up the screen” feel unless I pop Unstable, then its over a minute till I can do it again.
May make a fire sorc after leveling this one up more, found a lot of fire aspects that sound interesting.
this feedback says it all…
Blizzards patch to focus on sorcs…
Feedback: “the best part was the extra warehouse slot”.
Yeah another big swing and miss from blizzard – at this point they can delete sorc for all I care, and that would probably be a better starting point then what ive seen adjusted so far.
I can’t delete sorc now though. It’s storing too much gear for everyone else! Too bad it can’t hold a 2H sword for muling purposes.
Sorc? All glass, no cannon. This patch didn’t do much, if anything, to change the underlying issues with the class. It needs a total rework from the ground up, including aspects, glyphs & paragon board.
As I and others have said before, all of our damage mitigation is linked to conditionals most of which require us to have engaged the enemy prior to being active. If I’m able to engage a target quickly, it basically can’t kill me unless I really mess up. However, anything outside my zone of influence or off screen can put me in the dirt with little to no way for me to avoid it.
best way to play a sorc: just play a necro without minions.
Patch is great. Was already clearing tier 100 with chain lighting before. Now it’s way easier. The DR is fine cause firesorc probably needed it. Changed my CL build to do more dmg now that resource is no problem anymore. I tested my dmg output on Lilith and have around a 25% increase.
Now testing fireball sorc on a level 80 char running tier 50 pretty easily so that one works as well. Don’t know how that will hold up on tier 100 but I think it’ll be fine.
Seriously, I really can’t see why we need even more dmg. To do what? There is no content that requires higher amounts of dmg.
Other ways to apply vulnerable besides frozen or and frost nova would be nice. Adding the proc to exploit will not be fine and that’s why they won’t do that. It will make the sorc ridiculously strong. I mean I’m already hitting anywhere between 20 and 28 million on Lilith with a 2.5 sec barber when I apply vulnerable. Imagine that being somewhat of a constant in dungeons….
The CL resource problem went away because of the bounce aspect buff and allowed to bounce between boss and character buff?
Or what was the change in CL that you needed?
Didn’t really need it but yes it made it easier and possible to change my Cl from generating crackling to greater chain lighting. And the 40% chance to chain 4 more times is huge. I basically was able to take out 7 skill points and reallocated them to more dmg and DR as well. Now just running Esus ferocity which gives me a 75% atk speed increase with the aspect. Mana doesn’t run out. Everything blows up. Elites in tier 100 are dead before they can even do anything.
Anything using barber isn’t fine. Unequip that heart and try again. You’ll see what the problems are. After this season the barber will go poof and we’ll be left in the lurch again. I don’t want to be balanced around a broken mechanic because we’re back where we started after season 1.
@pronkg Nice, very nice. I’m been stashing away the CL aspects but haven’t been able to get myself to re-do paragon and skill tree.
@mansman
Easy solution, we must all smuggle barber out of season and jail break into eternal secretly. Change image to skull to camouflage their existence to the fun police.
