what makes this game bad for me is these damn lags. I’ve never had a game that required me to constantly:
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
ipconfig/flushdns
what’s up with that?
most of the time it runs fine after, just not today… unplayable.
other than that I like the game so far if it wasn’t for the mentioned above
One thing that really bothers me is that the current trade restriction is going to fail to accomplish its intended purpose. The point of the trade restrictions should be to prevent cheaters from buying BIS gear using third-party websites. But the fact that you can trade perfect rare ancestral items that can then easily be converted into legendaries ruins the whole point of these trade restrictions.
Just change the trade restrictions to something like this: You can trade everything except ancestral items that are about 15% off from being perfect. With rare ancestral items, any assortment of 3 affixes should not be more than 85% perfect, since you could fix the fourth affix with crafting. This way, the best geared players are always going to be self-found players rather than cheaters using third-party websites. This is more fair, in my opinion.
I made a thread about this today, but it didn’t gain any traction…
Boss fights where you are slowed to a crawl…You play at a fast speed all the other fights, then some bosses you have to fight like you are running in quicksand…

I have lots of problems.
But my single biggest issue is not being able to put “hold position” on permanently for individual skills. Its very annoying having to press shift when you want to attack with an aoe skill with for example hota or flurry. Or just change them to not require a target.
2 things for me.
1 - The community. Chernobyl wasn’t this toxic at it’s worst.
2 - Mounts are janky. Like, SUPER janky. Hung up on random pixels, town borders are super random, the whole system is generally frustrating.

Lack of build diversity.
Aesthetic is the best thing about it.

Loot wall their is a hidden back end mechanic that prevents uniques from dropping based on time played and our spec/paragon board
Depth.
The game has a wide breadth but isn’t that deep. It’s fun to go on the ride because the atmosphere of D4 is just amazing. Voice acting is just top of the line. And the combat design is very fluid, animations looks great, and is overall enjoyable
You start off weak, level through the story/campaign, crescendo with that epic cinematic of Inarius vs Lilith, start doing WT3, get stronger, go to WT4, keep doing NM dungeons until you’re 80 filling out your glyphs. Then the game kind of drops off. You’ve reached the end of the ride.
There is no more difficulty increases at this point. You’ll be steamrolling everything. There is no reward for doing higher NM dungeons. There are no difficult boss fights to work towards (outside of making builds that can essentially 1 shot Lilith).
I think the game does a great job at taking you from Point A to Point B. But there really isn’t any enjoyable replayability to the game. Which is strange considering ARPG’s usually have lots of depth and slowly add breadth. D4 kind of did it backwards.
Guess we’ll see what this patch holds and what Season 1 looks like. But really hoping they add more depth to the game.

If the game were nearly as fun as you think it is, you wouldn’t even be on the forums. You’d be playing the game.

lack of endgame.
WT1 to WT3 is excellent. WT4 falls off a cliff.
Also, Campaign is excellent. Those cinematics are goated.

The only gripe i have is kind of a 2 parter. The randomness of stats + the inability to change the stats on Uniques.
Getting a 4 stat rare thats fot 3 of what i want and then something uselessness and then spending MILLIONS of gold and dozens of mats to TRY and get that 4th mod to be useful is pain.
Getting an ancestral unique that has great damage and 2 good mods for me while the other 2 are either meh or just
and thus overall being a downgrade from my current 4 stat imprinted rare is just agony.
Stat allocation/stat rerolling needs a cleanup. And let us mod uniques. Not even extract the powers off them, just mod the stats.

- Itemization isn’t easy to understand - to many bloat stats that instantly gets either rolled away or trashed.
- Gold - seriously, what the actual f… We need 10x the amount of gold to sustain re-rolls and optimizations…
- Nightmare dungeons aren’t fun - 60% less crit, bleed, frost, shadow, 150% backstab, shadow ghost breaking the flow - they’re just not fun, makes me long for simple rifts and grifts…
- Uniques are for the most part uniquely trash - especially since they’re roll-locked (WHY!?)
- Boots not rolling movements speed as baseline is a huge oversight… Should roll movement speed as an implicit, not as a secondary…
- Aspects, should bloat up the chest/mules - they should be tossed into the “codex of powers” as an available Aspect to use.
- Bag space and chest space - I can’t see myself playing more than one character in this current state because I have 0 room left for gear, upgrades and god forbid different specs.
—I feel like I’m being hamstrung engaging with the game at every turn. Super weird and needs to be addressed asap BEFORE the casual Andys and Boomer Bobs reach the same conclusions.

For me its a toss up.
Level scaling ruins the expereince and drive to want to level. It should have been done were Each world tier contained 25 levels of monsters monster
WT1: lvl 1-25
WT2: lvl 26-50
WT3: lvl 51-75
WT4: lvl 75-100
WT5: lvl 100 - 125
Then each zone has a fixed level of monsters, IE if i got to WT1 starting zone, mobs are level, starting zone in WT2 is 26 ect ect.
THe other issue that is a tie for me is Vulnerability, Vulnerability is a bad mechanic that shoe horns builds into very specific builds that capitalize on vulnerability windows.

and yet way better than whats in this game atm for communications. i play games to meet people, i played d3 and d2 to meet people, and i met a lot of people on those games, this game just ensures you cant make friends. which is fine if you dont want to succeed as a game dev company.
