I mean, SERIOUSLY!!!
I’m level 72 Rogue (solo and grouped), doing Tier 21+ nightmares, Tier 4 helltides, Tier 4 Grim Favors, and literally, 98% of the drops (legendary and rares) are level 60 and UNDER. The tree just gave me level 60 boots, level 43 boots, and some mats… WTAF? This is constantly the issue I’ve been experiencing since I got into TIER 3.
YES, I’m aware of the required level vs. the item level… but the item level is in line with the required level for every… single… piece…

world tier 3 max item lvl is 60 (sacred), 45 i think normal, this will not change until you go to world tier 4. Its just the item scaling they put in to go along with the world scaling.
edit: not defending it, its terrible design, but thats the reason.

This is intentional and is actually an improvement over the previous system.
This change was made so you can send gear to alts without the items being severely level restricted. There is no difference between a lvl 60 ancestral item and a lvl 100 ancestral item prior to the patch, so they made it so all ancestral pieces drop at level 60. Now your alts can get stacked pretty quick.

As I said in my previous post… I’m not in Tier 3. I’m talking about Tier 4 exclusively.
So you’re saying it’s intentional that I’m getting level 43 rares and legendaries in Tier 4?

world tiers seem to only exacerbate the poor loot tables and scaling issues this game was designed to have…just feels bad man. clearly the team is not capable of a quick fix, even for something simple like gem inventory space, let alone the core design failures. d4 is following d3s release tale almost to a T. they even already offered the help hint of stop playing and play something else…2 months in…thats “not great bob”
cheers
For Grim Favors-73 is the magical level you start getting ancestral from tree caches and obols.
If they are sacred or nomal items, yes.
Yes, the loot is design bad,
yes we know it blows.
Yes it is part of the reason this game blows.
I think there might be a bug related to loot since the 1.1.1 patch. Yesterday a world boss dropped 1 legendary and 4 blue magic items and that’s it. Shortly after I turned in whispers and got 3 rares and that’s it.
Me too. I can do t45 and still get magic items. Meanwhile, I join friend’s t25 game and got some 800+ items. Weird huh?
Simple to see more ancestral item you need to beat 80+ monsters. In other word :
All in WT4 :
- NM 26+ : you can do it at level 70 or lower
- Helltide : you must be level 78
- World / normal dungeon : you must be level 85
If I go do a tunnel or whisper dungeon at level 76 monster are level 71 and almost all item are sacred maybe if lucky one ancestral will drop.
In NM 30 the table turn almost every item are ancestral and few sacred.
After that it RNG time roll a high Item Power and be lucky that item have the stat you want.
Is it a bug though when it benefits Blizzard to try to delay your progress, keep you grinding in game longer, and giving you hopes of getting better drops? I suspect more time in game equals more likelihood to spend money in their store (or so they think it works that way).
