yeah but D4 is pushing that even further…
as the game is now, rush to lvl 100 (not hard) farm some decent enough gear (not hard) level up your glyphs (boring but not hard) untill you can beat duriel (also not that hard)
then all you do is farm duriel untill you get the items you need (everything is ilvl 925) they make you do helltides (and wispers) to fight duriel but all you’re doing is just getting enough materials to fight duriel again.
i spent more then half the time playing just scrapping all the stuff i’ve picked up so i can upgrade the 0.1% items i use.
short version is, once you can clear duriel… the game is done.
