What in God's name is up with these absurd Set Bonuses?

Why are there several 100-400% Multiplier bonuses with sets lmao who designed this?
What a joke.

This game has got to have the worst gearing of any ARPG on the market. It’s just stacking absurd damage multipliers. That’s it. That’s the entire gearing and character building.

You don’t build a character, you compile a set bonus and then stack multipliers which are heinously large. Terrible game design. Just terrible.

D3 all over again.

It truly is a shame what happened to this game.

D3 was upwards of 50,000% damage increase or something nutty in the end on the full set bonus. I bet you could skip these charm sets and use unique charms and do probably even better.

You are right about this.
But this is the game, the majority wants. Streamers want this and the millions (?) of people wathcing streams and guides want that too.

So, here we are.

Besides these points, it is funny for some days/weeks. And in the end, this matters.

D3 also started with 3-500% bonuses. Then in each patch they took some of them and added another zero.

Well if we end up there then yeah I’m not a fan.

I love it, next best thing that happen on eternal realm.

Thanks Blizzard.

Don’t know how this team is so creatively bankrupt that they can’t afford to create interesting and fun itemization.

Instead they just resort to “NUMBER GO UP!!!” and slap thousands of multipliers onto damage and think that it’s good design.

Even worse, if there isn’t a set bonus for the build you want to play, you don’t get to play that build.

That’s every ARPG. The goal is numbers go up so I can kill more things to make numbers go up to kill more things. Acting like it’s anything else is ridiculous.

OH NO !!! Players get to feel powerful in an ARPG…THE ABSOLUTE HORROR !

Ahh, you must not be familiar with the term “nuance.”

Perhaps look it up.

Are you saying that in order for one to feel powerful they need to have thousands of percents of multipliers baked in and that there is no other way? Like, the only way for a characters power to grow is through flat damage multipliers and nothing else?

Yep, this studio needs to stop with their big number obsession. It’s REALLY lame and makes it impossible to design the game.

wow just like d3 the worst ARPG ever made that was considered the laughing stock of the genre during it’s entire life span

Yeah D3 was an utterly terrible game in every way.

They should not try and emulate that disaster of a product.

I seriously doubt the majority of players wanted much of what we got. They make decisions based on statistics/metrics. They have manipulated those metrics into flat out lies so many time none of it is believable. They are no longer in touch with reality so we get this mix of ignorance and stupidity. They make something decent then find a way to ruin it on the backend.

its because blizzard is terrible at actually balancing anything

We’re already there and beyond. Every season has multiple builds that can do more damage than the system can even calculate.
