It is precisely the changes to Frost Burn this season that brought the thought of hydra/blizzard and/or ice shards…
I think Ice Heart Brasis adds some interest in this direction. I have used it heavily in the past…

Unrelated. Do you happen to recall if you have seen the Glacial aspect drop? It hasn’t yet for me and one person mentioned it in the Sorc forum.
So the downside of me being where I am is, it is in my codex already…and I have started salvaging my 750’s because I am wearing the 750s I can use, while looking for ancestrals.
That said let me check if one is lying in my stash, or I will set it aside if I come across another.
No big deal… Just wanted to make sure it was dropping due to others having a longer time before it drops, such as myself… My wife has it… LOL

Im running a weird mix of hydra/cL/LS that im not sure how to optimize yet but im familiar with alot of different hydra options

Picked up not one Frost Burn but three from Varshan tonight, even found glacial on gloves. All 750 now and ran lvl 20 pit.
Tomorrow I will revise my build to incorporate hydra and frost burn to see how that plays together… Ice shards with the helm, well that seems fairly strong for now. Will know more as I progress through and see about pushing to T2…

Ok it is a long watch sorry.
But a few things this was my actual pit 40 run.
“The Thing” is being used but No Boss Powers, I will explain at the end
4 Glyphs the highest is 27…I usually would wait till 30 but got tired…:P, I show this, gear and bosspowers off at the end of the video.
Also made a mistake, I am wearing Temerity but it is not triggered without Boss Powers (Zir’s 2ndary), but I moved 2 passives to compensate and used a different helmet and swapped ManaRegen to Armor for the t3 requirement. Overall the regen was still fine…so maybe I can swap this to CDR once I get armor sorted out in T3.
And then I ran helltides for a few, just to show you what it looks like with Boss Powers ON, and I forgot I turned the recording off at the end of the pit. So turned it back on, and went back out just to get a sample of what it actually looks like when I play.
Now the “Thing” The reason I show Staff of Liam Neeson is because that was what I had planned to use. First stupid Grigoire refused to give me an Ancestral one. Second it just gets so outclassed by the “Thing”. It’s value is lost. It’s good in it’s own right, it just doesn’t compare in damage.

Now I am not saying that passive is broken, in fact it is really good and necessary. No changes required there.
But the Blizzord moment is here: (also if a fix is required it should start here)
Again for comparison, Raiment of the Infinite also has that but reasonable.
In fact I had no plans to use Raiment…but why not lean into it?
Now is it more broken than DeathTrap or Poowave or any of the SB nonsense? NO.
But to allow a temper which anyone can get with repetition and not a really expensive one, for 6-10 more points in that passive…Yes for 2 handed setup also, 5+5.
So clearly they wanted this. I did send them a communication asking about it, if it was intended.
And sure you can say well it is conditional.
Look at my build…and sure maybe it was tailor made for me to find it based on how my build works.
But EVERYTHING in my build stuns. Hell even Grigiore’s 2ndary with the EQ-knockdown as a main power or lilith’s main power…will stun.

Ok so:
- This was super fun to go through, thank you for including all the relevent details and presenting it in a way where i could get oriented easily even though ive never used charged bolts or boss powers
- This could get really interesting. Theres a couple application methods imma go mess with (what have you done? Im logging into this game and im looking forward to playing, hasent happened in like a year gg) but couple things this patch i noticed: the pick up range for cE with the new convulsions is both huge and pretty immediate, which is cool; there still exists lucky hit stun affix on paingorgers gloves, even tho they made it a rare affix, just a general note; aannnd now i wanna see a chain lighting with LS as an enchant, lightning ult active, and ive wanted an excuse to try out rainment for a long time…
Thanks for the time required to put all that together, was a fun read! How well does escadoras overflowing cameltoe proc, in your opinion? Does it hit as hard as your shocking impact procs?
Edit: my condolences on the staff of liam neeson, your experience matches mine with any unique weapon use attempt. They really need to be allowed to temper, as they just dont hold up.

It is not specific to charged bolts, or even shock sorc…Just to Sorc though.
Basically having Arc Lash as one of your Enchantments means Stun anything close to you when you hit something with a cooldown. Yeah so just play closer to things.
Shock Familiar also stuns…but guess what when you hit it, it is a cooldown…see above.
There is an aspect, Retribution that has a % chance of distant enemies getting stunned when they hit you, you should use it because it gives you a multiplier against stunned enemies.
Apect of Audacity, stuns when there are 5 or more enemies around you.
And like I said Grigoir’s 2ndary power used with a main that hits a lot of enemies is insta-stun and followup damage.
My build when I made it in my head, was centered around the concept of stunning…but I had no idea that temper existed at that level. It is under Weapons\Prysmatic Augments.
Thats why this concept is so intriguing; theres a ton of application methods as you say.

Well the staff plays strong also. Keep in mind the 3rd option for charged bolts is another multipler specific to that skill. You can still get 6 points in the passive and the play is still the same, you are just constantly hitting cooldowns while doing your other attacks. Just the damage drops by a lot.
Chain Lightning Sorcs aint got nothing on me.
Unless they use the “Thing” 
I mean every sorc should use it, if they are not already.
On a side note the Boss power I called EQ that knocks everything down for a few seconds, except bosses…that is basically damage reduction…When stuff is knocked down it is not attacking you.
It is my 2nd favorite main power.

CL is pretty lame agreed lolol but spamming it makes alot of cE, also to produce LS (stuns) through the ult (just remembered this gives another stun with activation, not bad) and maybe the LS enchant could get to the cap of 12 almost 100% uptime, hopefully. Imma believe it till i test it!
