I’ve been playing a zoo druid - wolves, poison creepers and ravens all maxed out. Cyclone armor, claw, and debilitating roar.
I am running
- The aspect that turns my wolves into werewolves
- Another aspect to give me an extra werewolf (for 4 total)
- A different aspect that reduces a cooldown every 5 basic attacks cast
- The aspect that disperses a % of damage across my companions and makes them immortal
- The aspect that increases the attack speed of basic attacks
- And the aspect that gives a stacking (up to 5x at 4% each) attack speed buff each time I hit an enemy with a basic attack.
- Mad Wolves’ Glee - makes werewolf my base form and gives a +3-7 (mine is +6) to all werewolf skills… which my companion wolves are now a werewolf skill thanks to that aspect
You can probably see where this is going. I’m using only my basic attacks to ramp up my attack speed and reduce the cooldowns of my companion skills. I have the skills that make my wolves do more damage to poisoned enemies, and I usually lead every group combat or boss fight with activating poison creeper. I save my active wolf skill for bosses and champions and the like, but they pretty much one-shot any elite or champion I come across, and they rip massive chunks off of any boss.
I haven’t come across any of the issues that people complain about companion builds for druids. Mine have always felt powerful, and I had almost no trouble while leveling through hard/expert - although admittedly the wolves are a bit buggy at times. Seeing them get caught above the top of the skybox is… frustrating, and sometimes their targeting for the active ability completely fails to fire off. But in general, this build has been excelletnt.
