What do you miss if ignoring seaons?

So, as many others, i don´t feel like “freezing” my main character on the “eternal realm” to start a new character every season.

But im afraid i could miss totally missable stuff only obtainable on seasons (FOMO) Even if its just some exclusive cosmetic rewards.

I hope that, once a season ends, any exclusive content may be available on the “Eternal” real, but who knows.

I´ve tried to make a searchon the subject, but couldn´t find any explicit answer.

So anyone knows and can clarify if in the end ignoring seasons implies missing stuff, or can we have confidence on that seasonal stuff being available on “eternal realm” even if its much later? -when the season ends, or something.

Thanks in advance.

All you will miss is seasonal gems that won’t be carried over to eternal so really your missing nothing lol

the only thing you’ll miss is the battle pass cosmetics, since blizzard refuses to allow the pass to work on “eternal” server.

so for the competitionist and collectors, they require to play at least 40 hours every 3 months just to add to their wardrobe.

Go watch the campfire chat, and fast forward to the battle pass, and new season, they cover most if not all of it, and we can’t tell you if you will miss anything. Because it’s up to you if it’s valuable or not.

I find it unfathomable that anybody would want to play the same character in this game for a long time. I can only conclude that the people thinking they might are people that have not even leveled to 80 yet or something. They don’t realize there’s absolutely nothing to go for after that point.

There’s nothing to go for after 50 lol, so seasons give you one day maybe 2 of playability and that’s good?

I’m not sure what you’re asking. Not a whole lot about this game is good. Seasons don’t improve it. But I can’t even fathom somebody wanting to play only one character for months on end instead.

Ok and thanks for your opinion, but my point on this post is not to discuss if its better to keep playing the same character o start anew every season, nor discuss “why would anyone choose this or that”, thats up to each individual itself. I just try to know if there is something you can really and totally miss if choosing not to play seasonal content.

Maybe they want a shako I dunno, definitely won’t get one for seasons

I mean yeah you miss something to do since you would have already done everything there is to really do on your original character.

what Gen Z and some millennials believe is that it is “unfathomable” that the world’s #1 revenue gaming company can’t adapt to 2023 gaming standards and still caters to “make a char and delete it/move on” after a few hours

i dunno if this is a demographic problem

or a genre problem

They already said don’t expect much with season one, what all are you going to be doing in season one that’s new besides one boss and some gems?

You will miss new clothes exclusive to the season, if you consider Diablo4 a cosmetic showcase game, instead of a lvl up your character and improve them game, then play seasons;) Never forget that there are also exclusive clothes tied to the real money shop as well.

As someone who has played many years worth of seasons, I can safely suggest that it is best to stay away from them, unless you want to run the battle pass asap and get out, or have 8+ hours a day to grind out lvls and gear

Does that means Battle Pass is useless if not playing seasons?

yes battle pass is 100% useless if you dont play seasons, thats correct

Wow thats an key point to take into account. thanks for quick and clear reply.

Something which all of you are not mentioning or down playing is the seasonal affixes, which is what it’s all about.

It’s not…just some gems.

You’ll start the season with a boost from all the BoA stuff out of the gate then as you gain seasonal powers you’ll start mowing down mobs like a John Deere.

It’s super fun and I suggest you at least try it out.

I’d not use any seasonal boosts just yet, wait for S2 or even 3 for that.

Well maybe they should attempt trading and recognize there’s actually a different way to enjoy games other than Destiny 2. You can trade. And a reset economy is very important to that.

Since when did Sony make D4? I think you have things confused.

  1. Sony - Gaming Revenue: $28.2 billion
  2. Microsoft - Gaming Revenue: $16.2 billion
  3. Tencent - Gaming Revenue: $13.9 billion
  4. Nintendo - Gaming Revenue: $13.8 billion
  5. Activision/Blizzard - Gaming Revenue: $7.4 billion

Even if you add Blizzard and Microsoft together now that the deal will Microsoft has gone through, they have 23.6 billion which is still less than Sony.

i knew someone would post this.

sony, microsoft, tencent aren’t gaming companies, they make games, but that’s not the core of their business

activision blizzard was the #1 gaming company by revenue… i guess nintendo would be #1 and activision 2nd…

either way… the point is activision was the #1 non tech owned company that is purely focused on gaming, now that its part of MS, the new #1 is EA
