What do Eternal Players have to look forward to?

I never once said that. I love the story, but I also like continually improving existing characters. I don’t want to start over all the time. That’s marketing BS.

Whether it’s Halo, or Diablo, I’ve never had an issue with it until now. They really should give us the option to replay the campaign on more difficult tiers. Grinding by itself is boring. Having the story and quests there helps the tedium for people like me.

More options are always better. Like, I’d never suggest they remove seasons. Too many people enjoy them.

well i enjoyed d3 storytelling alot more then d2 ones. Even if it was sometimes a bit cliche.

But this isnt about me, i will fully theorycrafting and playing tons of builds in this game. I tried to understand some1 that is playing d4 for the lore/story aspect only/mostly. Since i played a lot of story driven rpgs west and asian ones, i can relate a bit better then some, i would guess.

That’s actually a really good point - it would be good if there were at least enough character slots for a male and female of each class + 1 for an extra seasonal character. Which means 11 for now, and an extra 2 more for each class added in the future (if there are any added in the future).

Don’t worry, they will 100 % sell extra slots in the store.

Oh I hope not… :frowning:

If expansions are as frequent as they claim, your average player shouldn’t need to buy extra slots. Hopefully they continue the previous trend and give a few extra character slots with each expansion.

They can’t go p2w, so EVEYRTHING else will be paid for in the shop, sex change / name change/ extra slots etc.

They don’t need to sell them. Just ensure we have ((class-count * 2) + 1) slots.

I mean, yeah that would be the best, but this is activision- blizzard , I dont thinkt hey will be giving alot of free stuff.

And death and taxes…

And the last 50 % of your plate of pasta being cold before you can finish eating.

for some its exactly what they want, the endless grind of new characters. And one could argue what an aarpg is all about. Which i think has some truth to it all things considered. That you dont like it, doesnt make it pure marketing bs. It gives incentives to stuff you already do anyway, creating new character, making new builds.

It’s not just Diablo either. If you look at comparable ARPG games like Demon Souls, Darksouls, Elden Ring etc… it’s all about new game+

Again… I never said I don’t like it. I will most likely end up starting all ten of my characters that way. The question revolves around what happens afterward. With only ten slots, I’ll have no way to keep doing seasons. That’s why I suggested adding an 11th slot to repeatedly use for temporary seasonal characters.

Please understand, I’m not asking they take anything away from the options that are already there. People enjoy different things, and that’s perfectly acceptable. But, I find it a little limiting when they say “play your way” when I can’t.

In the last live-stream talking about seasons they were pretty clear that the seasonal theme would be ‘retired’ to make room for the next season. I would love to see the game get more activities/choices as time goes on but it didn’t sound like that’s the direction they were going for

didnt d3 introduced rebirth mechanics, so you keep your char, but start fresh as level 1? they probably do that in d4 also if they do not increase slots.

As a Poe fan, no you don’t want that, it’s fun for 3,4 seosons, and then it becomes a bloaty mess thats impossible to balance.

Absolutely they did.

As also a PoE fan, yes I do

Soon as the seasons are over, my characters are hitting the incinerator

ultimately that is the same as rebirthing, is it not? if you put all your stuff into eternal realms storage, delete it and create the same character again within a season. ok -character specific achievements, if they exist, that might be the dealbreaker for some.
