I may be the only one who cares, but it was really disheartening that there’s finally a minion-specific necromancer two-hander… and it’s a sword. Come on, man. Every single piece of key art you ever see for a necromancer features a scythe, either one or two-handed. They’re the only class who can equip them and it’s a huge flavor choice. Why not lean into it when you finally have the ability to? Doubly true when the only other unique one is Bloodless Scream that, while conceptually cool, is a fringe choice at best.
I don’t care for weapon implicits in general. To me, it should be a preferential thing. Like the speed or look of a bow but the crossbow’s inherent stats benefit your build much more? Yes, of course you can make a style over substance choice, but it feels bad and unnecessary. Class fantasy matters… well, to some of us.

I often avoid two handed swords on the Necro because it always looks like he’s going to topple over from the weight.

Heh, yeah. Feels awkward, especially the running animation.
I can remember they created a nice looking and elegant weapon for the Spiritborn. A mythic glaive. The outsourced graphic team which is responsible for the cosmetics did tons of glaive skins while nearly everybody play(ed) with a quarterstaff

Exactly! It’s so bizarre. The art team clearly understands class fantasy. The shop cosmetics are proof positive. But something’s getting lost in the journey from art to gameplay.

I too care about class fantasy. They could have made a 2H Scythe weapon or could have introduced a new 2 piece set of a 1H Scythe with a Shield. The Sword makes sense for Zir but a Necro minion build? Makes more sense for a Blood Necro kind of weapon.
