"We want the players to break the game"

When a certain portion of the playerbase is encouraged to brake the rules of the game in an always online, shared world with multiplayer events and activities then it’s clear those players’ fun is more important than YOUR fun, according to Blizzard.

It’s baffling as to why they keep releasing all these multiplayer events since clearly none of it is supposed to be enjoyed. We’ve all experienced how it goes. 1 person with a broken build shows up, 1 taps everything while we all sit idle and then we proceed collecting the loot behind him like we’re his pets. That’s the gameplay experience Blizzard’s actively encouraging. I don’t understand it, and I’m not sure they do either.

Other than that, and judging from the latest campfire chat it’s business as usual for Blizzard. Keep the insane power creep going, making the game easy mode once again.

The best time to play is right now before the patch that’s going to nerf the game and power creep all the classes hits. This season was a good run. POE2 coming next month. GG

you watched a different campfire then. They clearly said they dont want to bring classes to the spiritborn level. Changes to SB will be made in s7. Which is totally fair. has been that way since s2. People found a broke build and they are free to enjoy it.

The other classes are, as they stated, on a healthy level.

Were on a healthy level. They are buffing all of them when in fact they can reach Pi110, almost DOUBLE the highest Torment tier which is Pit65. I mean, lol.

just a few underperforming skills. My Spiritwave necro for example will hardly change. there arent flat out base buffs.

If you can continuously break a game, all you have is a broken game
Crazy that it is a plan by Blizzard.

They really need to make sure that all activities in the game has the exact same scaling as the overworld scaling. Otherwise they will never fix the game.

It’s comical how people are intentionally taking that sentiment out of context and stretching the definition to suit their agenda.

They should have addressed the Resolve Temper exploit from using a Necromancer and getting 14+ Resolve per item without any effort whatsoever.

I can get them not wanting to get rid of the unintended interactions that makes the SB damage so astronomicaly high, but that thing is pure exploit and they’re not doing anything about it.

They also could have nerfed Quill Volley damage a little bit to bring it in line with the other SB skills though, as most of them are working really well. I honestly wouldn’t care, and would even like it as a SB player, but they said they weren’t going to nerf anything, so Quill Volley players can enjoy it up until S7. I, myself, will probably stop playing sooner than later as I can’t find a skill I like that hits almost as high. Good thing PoE2 is right around the corner.

Anyway, this is marketing move to say that they’re not here to break people’s fun anymore, at least, not mid season, while also asking player to break to game… lol

It’s not that I want other classes to be on Spiritborn’s level, but when “they say they want the players to break the game” and then turn around and say they don’t want other classes to be too powerful, it’s just contradictory. It’d be better if they didn’t bring it up at all.

Welcome to D4, enjoy the ride

Sounds like a good marketing move to me. Especially considering that a broken SB having fun doesn’t affect you in any way. Let them have their ‘fun’. You have your ‘fun’ and I’ll have my ‘fun’. That’s the beauty of a non-pvp, solo game! How and what other people play have no bearing on your experience.

Even for a solo game that is completely wrong.
But then D4 isnt even a solo game either.

When it’s your fun against someone else’s fun, then it’s an “agenda”. Got it :joy:

How is it hurting your fun, be honest?

The difficulty of a game directly affects how fun that game is.

Below, I explained what breaks the fun. It’s a multiplayer game either we like it or not.

And I knew that would be your answer. I’ve done lots of world events with multiple SBs present and out of all of them only once or twice has one done that without me being able to contribute to the fight. And when it does happen “free loot”

I agree, and they want to sell/keep on selling VoH while it’s “hot”, so they’re not touching the SB just yet. This isn’t a bad thing. Still, seeing that SB is already broken, they might as well bring the other SB skills up to Quill Volley level.

We’re not talking a bout a mere 15-20% upgrade to most skills, but it’s anywhere between x2 and x10 damage between Quill Volley and the underperforming skills (and that’s by accounting the broken interactions). They’re all going to be nerfed hard when the broken interactions get resolved next season.

After a month or so of playing every skill except Quill Volley, I simply sloted the skill in my bar and I managed to push pits 20 tiers higher without changing anything relevant to my gear or paragon. Thing is, I don’t think Quill Volley is fun, so my fun will stop there unless they do bring the other skills up to that level (or at least close enough). They won’t, so I’ll stop playing. It’s fine though, they got their sale and I can’t say I didn’t enjoy the game. I just expected more in terms of buffs to bring the other classes near the SB level so that we can keep playing something else.

There’s a lot of very fun skills that simply don’t feel powerful enough, sadly, and that goes for every class.

Good for you? I don’t find it fun to play a pet build for other players however. Where’s the “power fantasy” in that? lol

Convenient how you left out the first half of my post.

I didn’t buy the game to be a tester.

For this I understand that there is the PTR

Finally, forget the PTR, create a bug bountry program, and offer some benefit for doing Blizzard’s work
