We need buffs -not for classes but for materials and loot- (no seriously STOP nerfing drops)

- Gems

you need 100k just to be able to make a grand gem. I believe the drop amount of them are way to small, I shouldn’t be going on t4 and then getting 400 ruby fragments on t4. That amount should be moved to t3 instead actually buff the amount that drops… maybe to 1,200 - t4 shouldn’t be a slogfest with these, the loot should be 10x LIKE IT CLAIMS BEFORE SWITCHING to t4.

- Runes

Do I even need to say anything? Legendary runes barely ever drop. If you are going to make it rare at least reduce the amount from 6 to 3 legendary runes required to make mythics.

Masterworking mats

Is in a awkward place. I don’t know how to explain it so suggestions would be nice for this one.

Loot

We keep coming back to the SAME issue, what was the point of a loot reborn season if you are going to UNDO IT ALL? Ancestrals should have a higher drop rate in higher modes.

boss loot

no GAs? or barely ever any…even with belial with the “modified” loot. it barely see anything - I swear that “modifer” they claim to have is non existant.

Solo Play

STOP PUNISHING SOLO PLAYERS, I know group play is important but solo players shouldn’t be on the streets begging for bread or at least a crumb (barely any loot). It is a good way to kill a game, some people simply don’t want to play with people - so make loot more equal for everyone solo or not. stop this “multiplayer gives more loot drops” business.

There is something very wrong with developers of ARPGS and LOOT DROPS of late.

Developers have decided that a (ARPG) that was about LOOT DROPS is now NOT about loot dropping.

No matter the ARPG nothing USEFUL (GA2-GA4) drops once you reach end game.

Even streamers who can play 12 hours or more per day are often running around with just GA1 items. They clear everything for 12 hours straight NO useful GA 2 items, NONE.

What hope does that give any normal players?

If you don’t trade which most of us don’t once you get to T3-T4 just stop playing, you are wasting your time.

Torment 1 should be where GA 1 items drop.
Torment 2 should start dropping GA 2 items at a useful amount.
Torment 3 should start sprinkling in GA 3 items.
Torment 4 should no longer drop many GA 1 items. T4 should be GA 2 and UP.

People may think that’s a lot of loot, but it isn’t. You still need to Masterwork it correctly.

People also think Master working is easy. Yes, but you accept low rolls or got very lucky.

People say you don’t need high rolls to clear content.

AGAIN, it is an ARPG, min max, finding loot, dopamine hits is what the game is meant to be about.

Let me find 30 of each item so I can roll them all and try and keep improving my gear. That’s the game. Finding items, better items… IS THE GAME. That’s THE POWER FANTASY.

Playing 12 hours for no useful drops is a Yawn fest, I don’t bother.

Exactly…but for some reason they decide to keep nerfing loot for t4 to the point where GA items barely exist.

I mentioned this in a previous thread about the same type of topic. You may find Streamers and YouTube content makers may be what has caused this situation.

The Devs are sick of these content creators making videos of them one shotting bosses and calling D4 easy.

The way they decided to increase difficulty is to add 1 shot mechanics and reduce loot so it is harder for those Streamers and YouTube content creators to overpower the content as easily. They now make videos saying"D4 is harder now" and feel this is a better game.

The ripple effect is people like me who watch no USEFUL items drop for hour after hour and think this is stupid and pointless. As a result I get bored and stop playing.

The devs can’t make both sides happy. Either D4 is a POWER FANTASY game or it isn’t.

A full set of GA 1 items is hardly a POWER FANTASY.

The POWER FANTASY needs to continue to a full set of GA 2 gear then full set of GA 3.

You need to SEE the DROPS so the player can keep pursuing their own POWER FANTASY.

Killing the boss easy was always the end result of an ARPG, of a POWER FANTASY game.

Drops needed to be scaled back a bit from season 7 but it was scaled back too far. A difficulty increase was needed but it was a bit much for the casual players.

The first few seasons, people were complaining about gem drops being too plentiful. This is the result. EVERY time people complain about excessive drops, gaming companies respond by screwing the players and nerfing them into the ground and leaving them there for a good bit.

If a drop is too plentiful, don’t pick it up and keep your mouth shut!

Then i must be the only ssf person on planet earf that can craft all the grand gems his characters need. I have enough of every material. I could craft the caches for the seasonal achievement twice. My character are wearing nice gear.

And im 1001% sure im not the only one. :see_no_evil:

Its more a matter of how much time you have to play to collect loot.

i’ve come to accept that (this season) with my build i may not get all 800 lvl gear like i want for my build. which as you have stated is digressing from the “loot reborn”. i remember a bone headed dev saying you’d get less loot but it would be more useful for your build. lies. more fun pls!

Agree - drop rates is my biggest complaint with this season. I would add:

  1. boss mats, especially for Belial - the new big boss of the season and he is hidden behind a RNG spawn that is behind a grind wall for matts (12 per boss on bttom rung of the ladder).

  2. in T4 only ancestral items and mythic and legendary runes should drop in my opinion - if they want to make it aspirational - make the loot aspirational too.

Whats a point nerf drop gems when they add expensive crafting
People complain because gems was only for socket, no use anything more then they reaching gems cap

I know it’s difficult for Blizz to make everybody happy. In my humble opinion one possible solution would be:

  • Make T4 really, really, really hard so only 10% could reach it. Not the case of this season.
  • Loot drops:
    • T1-T3: you can get everything you need in these levels. Make Legendary runes and ancestrals drop rate as in S7. Battle pass and season journey should only focus on these levels. Glyphs could be levelled to 75 within these tiers at 100% succes chance.
    • T4: 3GAs, mythics and legendary runes drop rates are much higher. XP received is much higher. 100% of success levelling glyphs. Legendaries are always ancestral.

This way nobody should need to go to T4 because season journey could be completed in T1-T3 and those who want to push and get 3GAs should go to T4.

Everybody would be happy.

The reason is simple again the Devs listen to streamers and YouTubers. Last 2 season they throw a fit saying im swimming in loot and its annoying having to go back to the city to go through all the loot just let me play the game.

So the Devs fixed that issue with Nerfing Loot drops.
This isnt just a D4 problem Poe2 did the same thing with the new season, last epoch up the drop rate for this new season, and
now theres people in last epoch throwing a fit because people arent buy their items off the AH snice they can just go fram loot from drops.

This isnt just an ARPG problem this was a problem in Destiny youtubers would throw a fit if the game was to easy because wouldn’t watch there videos but when the game was hard people would watch there videos so youtubers would push for a harder game basically killing the game almost every other season

So if you can grind it 16 hours a day, like a Korean MMO, then the drop rates are fine. Got it.

I just play a couple of minutes a day. Today i just did 3 pits and im nearly falling asleep :see_no_evil:

It’s also a matter of what content you play and adjusting your expectations accordingly.

I wasn’t enjoying the season so I just worked to complete the seasonal journey. I played hell tides and hordes as little as I could get away with, focusing on getting useful ancestral uniques and glyphs. I ended my season with just a single grand gem. I never ran out of any material because I only bothered to get the first masterwork correct and just went with what it gave me next.
