Victimize Issue

Why did Victimize go from double dipping to barely dipping the tip of the wick? It’s supposed to do do like 60% of the damage you do. Say I hit for 1 million, that’s 600,000 damage, plus the extra multiplicative based on how much vulnerable damage you have, say 800% on the Victimize tool tip. I get that people were saying it was double dipping before, but it was actually triple or quadrouple dipping. The ability is designed to double dip based on its bottomless cup of multiplicative damage. It’s not. It’s not even giving the intial 60%. Are they scaling the damage off of your base weapon damage and dex only and every other bonus gets ignored or what? If that’s not what they want it to do, then they shouldn’t have an ability with a description and features like Victimze in the game. It 100% does not do what is advertised in the description.

Does anyone have any insight on this, am I just daft and can’t math, or have the devs mentioned anything on this topic? Thanks in advance.

Yea…I really wanted to try a Victimize build this season since I missed it last season, but it’s clearly bugged; the explosion is doing 20% of the hit instead of 800%. Unfortunately based off Blizz’s track record, I expect them to only address this with the Expansion launch and it still won’t work. I hope they actually fix it by mid-season though.

But if Victimize is still non-functional in S6 I’ll just have to reroll Spiritborn like everyone else, and Rogue can just continue being a purely ranged class.

I’d be happy if I would get the 60% lol. My current strategy with it works really well until you want to do tier 6 hordes. It’s probably good for pit tier 100 or so if your gear is on point and capped masterwork. I’m running Cowel of the Nameless and the Shroud of Khanduras with coldclip and victimize. Dashing pulls everything together so you maximize the value on the crappy victimize, then the bonuses to rapid gambits or whatever that other one is that reduces your evade cooldown on daze and makes you daze on dash resets your evade. You just run around and evade, which pulls, then blow’em up and move on. You can clear the pit map in 2 to 3 minutes. The 90 boss makes me engage with its mechanics still, I’m not fully masterworked and have a bit of room for improvement with affixes. Also running the 200x damage basic attack sword that gives basic attacks an energy cost. Energy was an issue initially, but fixed it with reductions, and I was rocking Leyrana’s Instinct anyway and the combination more or less fixed it.

Then, I dropped a Tyrael’s Might and Harlequin Crest tonight. Neither one did anything substantial for what I had going on, and in fact ruined what made the build fun. It made me tanky as heck, but I salvaged them and crafted a ring of starless skies. My energy woes are a thing of the past for sure now, I can probably even swap some affixes off of reduction at this point.

Clear is super good, but man, bosses and hp. I’m at a loss what to do on that. I don’t think this build can do it without a victimize adjustment. Maybe poison is an answer, but I’m not sure how to work that in.

Pit 100 would be child’s play if it worked properly.

Apparently Cold Clip is bugged and counts as a cooldown per cast for Beastfall Boots if still have energy issues.

I more or less fixed it, and then I found some mythics and turned them into a ring of starless skies so energy issues are pretty much over. Good suggestion though.
