Useless Greatstaff of the Crone

Another thing that I have noticed in relation to this is a bug in the druid’s Claw ability, where it should add poison over time, just like the aspect that is used in the Wind Shear build. Instead it doesn’t stack as it should, and in my druid’s case, the “Fierce Claw” even has more poison damage than the Wind Shear aspect. And adding it to the other passive
“Toxic Claws” does not accumulate even half the damage that the “calm breeze” aspect does alone. Anyone more tested It?

it is working, you just don’t realize how numbers work in this case.

When you have flat number of damage on equipment / aspect it is the base damage before your multipliers, like all damage, willpower multiplier etc. The number on aspect is only influenced by Weapon Damage.

When you have damage of a skill on tooltip, it is already multiplied by willpoewr and All Damage stats (essentially, by “Attack Power”).

If you wanted to calculate base Claw poisoning damage, it is 3,677*0.2=735.4 Damage Over 6 seconds, meanwhile Wind Shear is almost 9000 over 4 seconds, both at 100 lvl when using 925 lvl staff. also Wind Shear has temper to fire twice on 2h weapon xD.
So this is actually 18000.

700 vs 18000 i dont think we have to talk anymore about claw at this point

Nm, Now I understand, it’s because the poison refers to Claw’s BASE DAMAGE. Thanks

wait

I mentioned this at the start of seasó 1 and no one gave a damn

They should give the casting classes two extra ring slots and and extra amulet slot. Might help even things out a bit.

Imo, the extra slots are import not just b/c of the extra aspects, but also the loss of temping to use a unique weapon. It’s a lot of stats & abilities to give up.

Also, the perma-bear/wolf can help w/the beast boost by starting 1/one and then w/basic off attacks of the other (atm I’m using maul w/ww default, but likely to switch that soon). I would say that I wish when your default form changes, the new form take place the companion active skills didn’t switch you to human form.

I’m running w/a companion build now (still need to clean it up w/P-Board et al), but in addition to the unofficial season of the pets, this sames like the season of the basic attacks. I may try a Druid basic attack build next.

Tbh, b4 this season, I would’ve just wanted extra aspect slots to balance it out. Now I think Druid could use an additional item or 2 w/the temping.

Edit: I just got a a Chrone w/a * to shred and iirc I have gloves w/a * to shred as well … it’s like it’s telling me to dump my companion build …

dont be fooled. You could have 20/5 Shred and it still won’t be doing damage

I had a brain fart and meant Claw, but your point probably still stands. (I’ve never tried a Claw based DPS build).

OT, I got lucky this season and got a Melted Heart I’m currently using on a Bash Barb (had to switch from Frenzy/DS b/c it hit a ceiling and the damage was just too good not to).

if you really care, I tested at lvl 93 with GA on crit affixes amulet, ring and gloves.
with nature’s claw im using 3 basic attacks at once with Greatstaff;

  • 16/5 Claw
  • 9/5 Stormstrike
  • 9/5 Earth Spike

This setup with gear masterworked items 4/12 can do just under 1M Damage Per Second.
This is super low number… You can do more dps just by using Runeworker’s Conduit Aspect, which when I tested at 100 lvl, I was able to push it to ~1.6M damage every second or so. But still nowhere near 100M dps that other classes can do, so just… don’t bother with melee druid, please…

I’m using shaco, It is also possible to get pants with GA +3 Basic skills, but they are very rare, and they wouldnt change values by anything meaningfull xd. like what? 5% change ? come on.

Thanks, what’s sad is “I was able to push it to ~1.6M damage every second or so” i can do close to that on dummy w/the werewolf companions (each) with their crits w/about 47% base crit rate, and is still very low compared to an unoptimized bash/cleave barb I have that can have the once blue moon 100mill hit, but more regularly in the 24+ million crit range. MW around 4 as well for the Druid.

Edit, OT I started another thread on the WW pets trying to figure out what does & doesn’t boost the pets sans shepard aspect build.
