After squeezing most out of my previous Blood Mist Build, I decided to update my Necromancer based on some uniques I acquired.
This current Necromancer build still takes advantage of near infinite Blood Mist, by afflicting enemies with Abhorrent Decrepify. We’re of course adding Aspect of Explosive Mist to the mix to make Blood mist both an offensive and defensive skill
Apart from infinite blood, or infinimist if you will, the goal is to have as many lingering AOE fields or DoTs on the battlefield. Therefore we’re using Blighted Corpse Explosion and, contrary to some other popular builds, Paranormal Sever. We’re choosing Sever for the Aspect of Empowering Reaper, which grants you a chance to spawn a pool of blight when you critically hit. To improve our odds of this happening, we’re running the Aspect of Grasping Veins, which grants us up to 20% critical strike chance every time we cast Corpse Tendrils. I kind of got lucky and obtained Greaves of the Empty Tomb, for another added DoT proc to Sever. All of these AOE fields have a chance to spawn corpses through our Hewed Flesh Passive and reduce our cooldowns thanks to Abhorrent Decrepify.
There’s some more aspects and uniques highlighted in the video, as well as some paragon boards.
2 gear pieces that have netted me great success are the Aspect of the Embalmer, which grants you a chance to spawn a Blood Orb every time you consume a corpse, and Blood Artisan’s Cuirass, which spawns a Bone Spirit for every 10-5 orbs you consume.
I will probably revise this build once I start spamming high tier Nightmare Dungeons. But for now it’s serving me well when soloing dungeons when I’m about 18 levels lower than any of the monsters.
Is it better than the current meta infinimist? Probably not, but it’s different and has worked great for me
