Does your console have the option to custom set a DNS server in the network settings? If so, see if you can add 8.8.8.8 (google) as an optional DNS server.
See if that helps.
Your problem sounds like its having issues connecting to the servers via the internet. So something is causing network disruption. This might be a way to get around it, but no idea unless its tried.
Otherwise, you might want to run some of these tests (may have to use a PC to do so) especially the ping tests and see if there are any connection latency/loss problems.
