Went back and looked again and it certainly seems like it will be an extra cosmetic that is unlocked with the season pass but it really isn’t clear. Hopefully they will explain more tomorrow on the dev livestream.
What I understand is that you have something wrong with you.

I don’t think we know yet but tune in tomorrow at 11am to their Twitch or Youtube channels for the dev live stream where they will hopefully give us some more details on it.

Actually I just re-checked and on the battlenet launcher description of the Ultimate Edition it says:
‘‘Accelerated Seasonal Battle Pass Unlock in Diablo IV—includes a Premium Seasonal Battle Pass Unlock plus 20 Tier Skips and a cosmetic’’

Says both actually. The comparison chart says “and cosmetic” and the one that has choose your edition says “and a cosmetic”. I’m still going to say that since they haven’t revealed any cosmetic or anything, that it’s a typo or misinformation of some sort.
Its 20 levels on the cosmetic Battlepass, not the normal Battlepass. It wont be pay2win (yes, i know everyone can reach the levels in Battlepass, it would still be a slight pay2win mechanic to skip 20 levels in normal Battlepass).

He didn’t misunderstand anything you said. You misunderstand what the 20 skips are.
You asked if in the first season your character would start at lvl 20.
He told you no. The skips are for the season pass.
Its you that misunderstands. The season pass has levels. The perk is skipping 20 of the season pass levels.
i understand its “battle pass xp boost” and not “character xp boost”
like youll progress the season pass bar faster and get cosmetics faster. yet anyone who plays enough to consider themselves gamers will complete it without the boost anyways.
it’s for the “yo i bought this but dont have time to play it can i throw money somewhere” crowd - while staying cosmetics only. i approve so far but gotta wait and see what shenanigans they try to pull in the future

I don’t think they’ve announced it yet, but a lot of games that do a season/battle pass have 100 tiers
they said that the battle pass is 10 bucks on a live stream awhile ago

This sorry battle pass is like a 99% copy of Call of Duty’s battle pass. And I think that’s why I hate it so much.
Swap around the order of cosmetics and other stuff but it’s pretty much the same battle pass.
The battle pass is also $10, it states that on their front page and is also just like Call of Duty.
Edit: One thing I hope that they do take from Call of Duty is letting you purchase the next battle pass without buying it as you earn currency progressing through the previous pass.
