Uber Unique drop rate is increased by 1350x

Uh absolutely, any increase is better than we had before.

I would also add that I don’t think the numbers are linear. The 800,000 items are fairly common. The 400,000 items seem to be way more than twice as rare. This, of course, assumes these numbers are correct and just based on my experience getting these items.

it depends if they reset the rng after the patch or not. if we counted all the kills prior to tuesday someone might have a shot at it. if it reset back to zero, then nobody really. this is assuming its not a 1-4000 shot every time. i don’t think it keeps track however

I opened a ticket with Microsoft to get an Uber. :hamster:

It’s not a counter, you have a dice with 4000 sides, and you roll each time. If it doesn’t land on the specific side you need, you get to try again.

It’s stupid might as well be non-existent rare still.

So instead of getting an uber once every 10 seasons outside of duriels its 3 now maybe?

Also Rob is a scumbag. One of the worst things that happened to this game.

Literally telling ppl to cheat for him and got away with it.

Nice msg to send to your base.

Streamers = untouchable.

No, disagreed completely when we’re talking these numbers- there are changes that are tantamount to no progress at all. This is one of those changes.

A change towards the direction you want isn’t always a meaningful change, it’s damn near illusory. It’s a gesture that’s meant to make you think exactly that “better than before!”

The change is equivalent in seriousness to no change at all.

3 mothns a season you lose it away not increase the drop will bring players back lots of my clan stop playing

Diablo 2 fan it 2024 not 2000 grow up man we do have time for a second D2

I am a d2 fan. I’m not suggesting another d2. Im suggesting a game that at least meets the playability standards of its peers.

I would love for d4 to be a game that sets the industry standard for its time, like d1 and d2 did. I don’t think these devs or company structure allow for it, but wanting the games that i love to treat the players of the game better is absolutely not a damnable quality, and it’s weird that you’d try to conflate the two.

D4 is setting standards. For graphics and art. It is unmatched.
Unfortunately its doing the same at the opposite end for gameplay, balance, itemization, ect.

I could do better to highlight the great areas of the game- graphics and art are on point- the combat when you’re active IS smooth, and they have made the improvements that they seem to be allowed to make.

you are correct.

I do not think the good outweighs the bad, unfortunately- we both agree on your other point as well.

Unfortunately its much harder to find talents for these things.

Disagree, nailclipper. It’s easy to find talents for these things, however the company with nearly unlimited resources compared to its peers has CHOSEN to not find these talents- because it costs money and time.

I think it’s important to highlight the fact that this is a choice that was made-

They have access
They have Reach
They have funds
The talents clearly exists

This was a choice that was made.

Is it easy though? How do you spot people who have good talents in game design?

Blizz actually spends time and resources to find talents for arts since a lot of the skins are outsourced. You can browse artstation to find a lot of freelancers and outsourcing studios working for Blizz (they post Diablo art assets on their portfolio).

maybe if we had a magic find system we could reduce the 4000 by whatever percentage MF you had

IT is easy- the outsourced art is a money thing- being apart of a large publically traded company they need people to consistently churn out these types of things in a cost effective manner- this is a money -saving- move and not a result of seeking the best talent.

And yes, when you have unlimited resources compared to your peers it’s incredibly easy to attract super star talent. C.R.E.A.M.

At the risk of drawing the ire of the individuals who are attempting to bash me for being a fan of diablo 2, i believe this is a reasonable thought process.

No I mean for arts you can just check their portfolio to see their work. You can also ask them to send a concept art.

Now how to spot a good game designer? Guys who are good at balancing the various systems in a game?

Magic Find is one of the worst affixes to have in any game as the balancers have to take it into account for drops. You could just stack it and then get carried. So they end up just dropping the rates to get items way down so that you need MF just to get back where you were. It was one of the dumbest and most frustrating affixes in any game its in because you feel weak running it or you feel like you are missing drops if you dont have it. Feel bad no matter what. Just awful. Glad its gone.

I’m not sure why you believe the two are far enough removed from eachother to be totally different.

You can write /draw out a game mechanic, perform math functions and be put through any of the same tests that an artist would be put through.

The actually hard coding follows that, certainly, but that’s not as much of a barrier as you believe it to be. (when you’re a company that has unlimited resources)
