RMT is already thriving and while it’s more or less whatever for now, it really won’t be when ladders and leaderboards get implemented. Then - all leaders will be RMT whales with perfect quad-fect items in ever slot and top numeric value rolls of which normal players will be only able to dream about.
You can already see gold RMT going or even item RMT. You’re seeing 3rd party tools for item trade being made. It’s already starting to roll out and there’s not even big incentive for whales to go whaling.
So what’s the point of allowing to trade? For you average mediocre item trade for overpriced amount of gold, whales will be buying GG items with $$$ and you’ll be ever more behind than if there was not trading at all.
Everyone who played D3 before Reaper of Souls knows what I’m talking about. This is going to be RMAH v2, just via black market.
Which is why I think it’s best to disable all trading starting from Season 1.

Yikes, this take makes me cringe. How about Blizzard creates centralized trading within the actual games UI and develops internal systems that catch these people buying stuff at an appropriate rate instead of disabling/not expanding upon what should be a core function of the game, which is an internal economy through trade.

Inb4 you start getting roasted by all the resident credit card warriors who think current trading isn’t enough
- all 5-6 of them.

Because RMT is unavoidable. It’s already happening. Just google around and see what the bloody hell is going on already. You think adding some in-game system will change anything?
Having trading enabled automatically enables RMT, this has been the case for decades. You want whales to stomp ladders, just because they spend hundreds of dollars on gold or items and this way acquired a lot better gear than you?
Or maybe I’m already speaking to a whale - who knows he can’t beat anyone with his non existing skill??

I just purchased my first home and really can’t afford to waste money on something so stupid. I wouldn’t if I could. It doesn’t really bother me that others are that dumb - I just want to be able to trade for stuff myself.

So instead of trading for everyone let’s have trading for RMT whales only

I mean blizzard can ban these accounts they could also do the same thing in wow but it seems they rather turn there head but you’d rather players take the responsibility and no one gets to trade lol
Demons are scary, disable demons before s1.

In WoW RMT is a growing business and I bet the Big Bobby K. is getting a cut

Trading would literally make this game 100x more repayable for me. Right now with no economy and getting very minimal upgrades I have 0 reason to play.
We need two leagues for S1.
Trade League - Open trade, item drops balanced around trade, smart loot garbage gone
SSF - Casual console warriors with their loot pinatas and rainbow ponies.

Your pespective is just different.
If someone is making 500$ an hour, they’d rather work that hour and pay 50$ for a boost which would otherwise take hours.
On the other hand, if you are flippin urgers for 15$ an hour, you have bettr things to do with that amount.

What are they buying in Diablo 4 that they will get faster XP or other players can’t get tho?

That is a problem of blizzard’s moderation system, not a problem with trading.
If anything, trading needs to be 100% opened up to EVERYTHING in the game.

It’s been very clear the last 22 years that their moderation system will never be adequate. Having unrestricted trading will result in players purchasing Shakos and Grandfathers with real money.

Even if that is the case, who cares and for what reason? It doesn’t affect you. It doesn’t affect others.
Blizzard needs to step up their moderation. Other games with a fraction of the budget that Blizzard has moderate their games just fine.

Or just make trading anonymous, can’t RMT if you don’t even know who’s getting the item

Any form of trading shall be banished from the game. I don’t care about leaderboard but trading will ruin the game. No discussion on this.

You’ll probably won’t care about ladders and leaderboards either. Well guess what - some of us do, and we want fair competition, not one where #1 is some RMT whale who spent 2000 bucks on black market and has perfect gear in every slot…
and before you say - then just grind gold. Sorry buddy, you’ll never match grind to power of dollar.

OP doesnt have a hope in competing in ladders in general is what im reading. Might aswell moderate peoples play time too. To exactly 1 hour a day. May RNG bless you? Ill never understand why anyone gets absolutely bent out of shape about stuff like this. You gonna win a prize even if you do win the ladder lottery? Blizzard gonna pay you or some shiz?

So what you says goes? It’s literally one of the reasons games like this are so popular. I don’t care what you think.
THIS GAME NEEDS OPEN TRADE.
