Trade economy doesn't exist, enable trading to legendaries & Uniques!

the more i think about this the more i like it honestly.
i can farm for gold and turn gold into other people finding items for me.

this way i can atleast try at speeding up getting items i need for a build and then pay other people to play the game in hopes of finding desired items along the way.

this sounds totally like GDKP with extra steps but i think its the best bet at “trading for uniques” currently.

I like not being able to trade legendaries and uniques.

I stopped playing Diablo III in the first month I think, because the meta gear was to maximize gold income and pickup radius so you could buy the best gear off someone else.

It was the absolute lowest point of the Diablo franchise.

I’d rather not have that back in any form.

No thank you. That would make gearing up take 30 minutes…and then what is there to do? lmao

i get what you mean.

where is the middleground between being able to realistically find items for ourselves and our other chars and trading for services/items with other people?

if it wasnt so restricted once your farm char hits higher levels then maybe that would be enough to fix it.

right now i feel it’s impossible to realistically find items for sidechars.

nop, now you can easy get alot of cash, drop some ancestrals, use discord or reddit OR other site where ppl put item with price and sell them. In 3 day on level 83 i got almost 400 milion gold from trade (not much for soo long but still). If you put unique/legendar sell ppl with CASH will buy gold and get ITEM so game P2W. Now gold sellers get alot of $$$ from ppl after that they get more… sooo… i don’t wanna next game P2W… but like in Diablo 3 trade between ppl from party… YES for that. My friend got from 70-81 running with me 5x item for my build Unique but not drop for me…

All games are p2w trade or not. Go look at destiny2, Can buy your own little foreign kids to play your account and get your trials rewards.
Rest of us can not trade and in general interact with each other because of your fears of someone paying to win?
Not trading right now because there is nothing to trade. Sure i could use a couple items better but what would i do if I did not have entire inventories of yellows to look at every 4 minutes?
But sure would of in the first few days after release. Because of crybabies complaining loot was dropping too much I was nearly 60 before i had my class defining aspect and no there is no dungeon option for it.

For example, I am strikingly against trading, because after a while, ostriches will begin to appear that the loss of legendary and unique items is too frequent, and this will be done in order to establish trading for real money.
The exchange of Aspects from the legendary ones (only inside the game and not for real money) can still be understood, because aspects that may be useful to someone else often fall. But not trading, trading will kill the gameplay.

trade economy exist, it’s simply that , as per the devs philosophy , some items “should only be earned through playing” hence why they made legendary and unique non-tradeable…farming is a farming game scary isn’t it ?
but still economy exist, most things are tradeable , only unique and legendary aren’t. doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
and i think it’s for the best

open trading ruined D2R quiet a lot in in my opinion , especially hardcore and season since wealth could be traded between 2 differents realms (seasonal or not and hardcore or not) what the point of a reset or hardcore if you can get auto-geared ?

why is the complete polar opposite the goodguy method then?

why do people despise being able to find items for alternative chars.
i dont get it how it’s the best possible thing to happen that once you’re level 100 anything requires level 100.

can’t find items for a rogue when playing a druid. why are people so hardstuck on it being a good mechanic that trade is disabled but on the same hand finding items for sidechars is locked to the current level of the mainchar.

trade enabled or not. why do i get limited in finding stuff for my chars while playing my chars.

what do i miss here? i dont get why this mechanic is praised as the best possible thing to happen.
in d2 or poe i could always grind lower level areas to find equip to gear in intervals.
right now its lvl 50 in t1/2 and currentlevel(min lvl60) in everything else.

trading aside (since i think it’s a good thing legendary and unique are not tradeable, i think some items should only be earned through playing much like the devs think, and ancestral rare being tradeable is already impactful enough , maybe too much even)

i think like you in the other aspect.
i don’t understand why item level requirement is based on the level of the finder.
it should be based on the power level of the item instead.
example if shako start to be findable at lv 85 THEN it should be lv 85 requirement

same for others item they should have a level based on starting what level they are findable with the power level they have.
as far as i know there isn’t a difference in ancestral rare between lv 75 and 100 for example though i might be wrong.
if so : they should require lv 70-75 , not 100.

As for the smart loot, i think it would be nice to be able to enable and unable it at will but that’s another matter.

thank you for not trashing my opinion right away while still disagreeing on some parts.

Not only can we not trade legendary items or uniques, we can’t even trade crafting materials. Not to mention the 9,999 cap on materials. Laughable. They might as well have omitted trading altogether.

Especially if you’re playing with a small core friend group, none of you can trade your well rolled legendary items that don’t fit your build. All of the loot becomes salvage fodder.
Getting a high roll legendary item that isn’t for my build should still feel good and it just doesn’t.

why would i do that ?
it’s a forum : we are here for debate.
we might disagree on one point, doesn’t mean i don’t agree with your other points which i think are fair points and i even agree with them entirely

even the point we are disagreeing on could be considered a fair point, it’s all about perspective.

but i would never trash an opinion because as the word say , it’s an opinion.
my opinion isn’t worth more than yours.

oh i realy want to be able to trade for uniques, because i have abysmal rng getting that tempest roar helmet. i already found all them druid uniques including 4x the wrong helm.

i kinda feel unmotivated going further, but also because i cannot realistically build a rogue while playing the druid.

i understand that thought, personally my reasons for not wanting unique to be traded are :

  1. what happened to D2 and D2R through bots and jsp : everything could be acquired for a few cents, which also ruined season and hardcore.
in my opinion i don’t see a point in a farming game if you can get anything without playing the game or get overgeared in hardcore without actually having played hardcore.

  2. my vision of aarpg which is to make do with whatever we find and pursue through our own effort the items we haven’t found yet.

Of course that my own opinion once again, it doesn’t mean it’s better than yours, 1 opinion = 1 opinion.

BUT even if we disagree on that part, i still understand your plea.
especially in a game where balancing is bad to a point where the game forces players to play specific builds.
and if said specific builds require unique item to be viable it’s bad if there isn’t other good alternative.
They should really work in making most build viable, what the points of skills if many of them aren’t end-game viable ? Of course it’s near impossible to make them all 100% balanced, but at the very least all should be end-game viable be it through specific aspects , items etc…but still a possibility for end-game with anything.

for the time being i’d say try pulverize build i think it doesn’t require unique though i might be wrong.
or to play rogue with whatever you happen to find for the time being.

personally i’ll be waiting for season restart to make my 2nd character so that season feel really different than the previous eternal playthrough.

RMT and Botting hasn’t impeded diablo 2 classic or resurrected from going strong and having one of the largest communities of any diablo game for two decades. I will never understand the hate bonner people have for how other people play the game. Competitive events should be the only time people should have to worry and in those cases anyone on the leaderboard. In those cases I think making a leaderboard character should disable trading or SSF character essentially. Outside of this the world is your oyster in the spirit of fairness and free will.

I honestly never cared if someone bought enigma day 1 of ladder, they usually stopped playing because they got to the challenging part of the game before they could enjoy it. Another thing was that most people were able to trade lucky finds for GG items anyways. I got full tals and griffons legit on D2R second ladder in the first week farming keys and selling torches. So long as there is a good economy where you earn value legitimately, it doesn’t matter in the slightest.

I think the whole trading, RMT, and botting, hatred is almost purely gear envy. It is the i’m under 6’ and drive a lifted truck mentality in video games. Like people being upset about save scumming almost entirely single player games. Oh you ruined the challenge and fun of leveling and battling the gym leaders in pokemon? I want your gameboy broken. Like what dude? And as I stated above, make leaderboard climbable characters Solo Self Found only, and there is zero issues.

yes, this is what i do currently, or i mean. i actually dont.
i am playing a diffrent build until tempest roar drops but i was always like

  • just gotta go higher in NM dungeons and it will drop eventually
  • just gotta play more
  • just […] no?
i kind of lost motivation after realizing after getting tempest roar what would actually change.
    i wouldnt do NM30 i would do NM-higher
but i still couldnt grind gear for a rogue or possible druid#2 because items i find are current level.
    soooo
i dont know how to stay motivated because even if i would get the item what is there to do?

[maybe this game is not for me]
but how were d2, d3, poe and last epoch for me.
why does d4 demotivate me so much. i just dont get it.
i should be motivated to play but i am not.
other people dont have this problem.

i want what others have. but i seem to not figure out how to stay motivated.

Trade what ? some uniques that drop like showers ?

not if you have abysmal rng getting the one class specific unique. then it dont drop like showers
or possible uniques for another class.

Don’t need an economy.

The game is fine without ways for people to make real life money playing the game.

Leave it as a game not a business
