6.7 Million TOUGHNESS!
Honestly, Effective HP/Toughness IS useful information.
It should not hide away other useful information like % DR.
But both of those numbers tell relevant information.
The argument that you dont know how good it is, because you dont know how much dmg monsters deal, is not different from when you only see % DR numbers (after all, it is the same numbers, just shown in two different ways)
Is 80% DR good if monsters deal a million damage, and I have 10k HP? No. If they deal 20000 dmg, yeah, it might be good (depending on a ton of other factors).
Would still be interesting to know more about how much dmg monsters deal. I would be all in favor of a combat log.
It was very straightforward and easy to understand before. Armor Hard Cap was 85% at 1,000 value. It took Seasons and Seasons to get this right.
Elemental Resistances have always been easy to understand with Soft Caps and Hard Caps.
Outside of this there were a ton of conditional DR% sources that displayed in your character sheet. It was pretty easy to understand in that the priority was:
- Hit Armor Hard Cap for the Tier
- Hit Soft Cap Elemental Resist for Tier
- Increase Maximum HP until you do not die
- Be sure to have Fortify always up if available.
- Be sure to have Barrier always up if available.
- If you feel squishy, look at your DR and see if you can increase that. Does it feel better? Yes/No?
- If all else fails and you still feel squishy - just do more damage lol.
this is great. simple. common in games. thank you. also lets get to change aspects after sanctification.

Agreed. Toughness needs more clear indicators, how about a color-coded system:
Four Tiers of Toughness (Color-Coded)
- Red: Frail. You will be very vulnerable to being “one-shot.”
- Indicator: Toughness is less than 50% of recommended value.
- Orange: Minimum. Your character is insufficiently geared and is vulnerable.
- Indicator: Toughness is 50–79% of recommended value.
- Yellow: Strong. Your character is appropriately geared to handle most situations.
- Indicator: Toughness is 80–120% of recommended value.
- Green: Resilient. Your toughness is high enough to withstand significant punishment.
- Indicator: Toughness over 120% of recommended value.
