Idk what yalls problem is, i main a necro and have finished the server slam with minions, only sacrificing them to kill Ashava.
They are a little squishy and i agree. But they arent so squishy that it takes Away from the game play. Theres still plenty of corpses to revive your dead minions and carry on.
Necros were God tier last beta and were OP Af, this just scaled it back a bit. Ive completed everything except Kor Dragan so far with absolutely no problem. It just sounds like you guys arent built right and expect the game to be a d3/DI corpse explosion fest.
