You are right, I dont think another ARPG has come out in the time span to be able to compare it to, but then I have to ask why bother comparing it to anything. If you find the game enjoyable then play it. IF not than move on to something else. ITs not like the game was really that expencive and I am sure there are games in peoples collections that they harldy played or didnt like it after buying it and now it just sits there and colects dust.
Well, itâs all mental gymnastics (couldnât use the master baiter comment) here right?
We are trying to understand if we have a bad game and players quitting because of that vs a normal trend with seasons.
Those are the positions. They are grossly very different and should have different numbers.
I side on the numbers look bad and I think itâs more people quitting than the seasonal affect.
Thatâs all.
Opinions of course differ and thatâs okay, just wanted to see your take on it relative to what we have and see if there is something else we can look at to get more clarity on whatâs going on with D4.
There are people who feel the game is just fine, and the numbers are normal. Conversely, people are saying itâs dead.
Could the numbers actually mean it could be either and itâs not definitive?
Yeah. Thats excatly it. The numbers really dont mean anything.
People have been saying WOW is dead or years, Said the same thing in other genre as well. YEt there wil always be people that enjoy the game and keep playing it no matter what the numbers say.
Nothing gymnastic about it. Do you enjoy the game? Cool keep playing. Do you not enjoy it? Cool then move on to something different. Are other players enjoying it? Who cares what others are doing?
The big question I guess would be. Does it really matter if everyone on the planet says the game is dead but you still enjoy playing it?
Dude, youâre in middle of double speak.
So letâs clear up a couple things.
We agree to disagree on the value of this data.
We agree to disagree that the discussion is worth having at all.
True?
Its not double speak. Its really a simple matter and the base question. Does it matter to you what others are saying or doing?
Clearly we disagree on how important that data is.
Discussions are always worth having. Mainly if there is a disagreement. If everyone agrees than the discussion is not worth having at that point as its just an echo chamber.
So all I am saying is that players should ask themselves if they are enjoying the game. If not than move on to something else. Dont sit there and cry and moan like a 5 year old that didnt get what they wanted for dinner lol thats all.
Also I guess the bigger question would be does it matter what others think or say?
Dude, is your last question rhetorical? Sorry if I even have to ask, but itâs hard to tell on here lol.
This right here is typical White Knight Jargon. You canât argue, as they will twist like a pretzel. Nothing matters, only confirmation bias to the White Knights.
I play 4 hours a week and Iâm 100⌠is 4 hours a week a lot?
No the only thing that matters is what I think of the game. Numbers only matter to the sheep that care.
No that is about average for the normal person.
Im sure you got it figured out. Yes it was.
They matter to Blizzard. If they were great, you and Blizz would be screaming it from everywhere. Come on, man. Accept that the game is dead for most. Why does that bother you so much?
Are you blizzard? No? Then why care.
The game can be dead for most. That is completely ok. Let them go play something more to their tastes.
Blizzard has only one set of people to answer to. The shareholders so yes numbers mean something to them. To the players they dont mean anything.
Look up âirony.â Ditto to you.
I think you should look it up, as I am not sure you get the meaning. The irnony is you think I care what the numbers are.(If I did care and was making these statemenets than that would be ironic) I dont. As I have said. If I enjoy the game I will play it even if not another single person on the planet is playing it. Which would just mean less server lag for me.
We should care about activity because without it, live service doesnât get funds to stay active lol.
We donât get funds for further expacs or the expacs get less content since they are funded less.
Activity is very important.
Are you kidding?
What D4 gets for development and lifecycle time frames are going to be related to activity, which I think everyone found that the announcemnt for D5 being made - was worrisome.
White Knight will come back with pretzel logic. Just wait.
Games should be designed around providing enough content for the price they ask, donât you agree?
For a $70+ game Diablo IV is sorely lacking.
Nothing gymnastic about it. Do you enjoy the game? Cool keep playing. Do you not enjoy it? Cool then move on to something different. Are other players enjoying it? Who cares what others are doing?
This is the truth. I honestly dont get why people get all wrapped up about what others think of a game they are playing. It literally doesnt matter at all. It is just a silly video game. It is about as inconsequential as it can get.
very few people would ever have spent the time leveling up like that if it werenât for the motivation to get to the expected loot hunting endgame
Though it does show that those folks didnât listen to the devs, who repeatedly said that this was a game about capped progression, where you get less and less progress as time goes on and eventually you complete the character and make a new one.
I know its seasons but the activity drop is massive. Until we see who returns for s2 and s3 we wont really know the true trends.
Itâs not just seasons, itâs the capped progression, the weak first season, the lack of leaderboards, and the early announcement of S2.
