I should be thankful to not have fun for the promise of fun later? That’s not how entertainment works. Delay gratification for your health, for your relationships, for lots of things, but not for a freaking game!
You make the base game meaningless with seasons.
What does season have anything to do with that? Season mechanics will be taken away end of season and new mechanics will be introduced. Your character won’t be Super Saiyan Ultra Instinct Purple Blue 6.
This right here is the crux of the problem with the game and it is only 1 example of many…
CDR: CDR was being over used, so let’s nerf it. Except nothing was ever done to buff or explore WHY CDR was being overused. Other classes, perhaps that were overpowered were using CDR to extend their advantage. ( That’s is not their fault either). Because of how OTHER classes were using CDR—results in a blanket CDR nerf for everyone!!!??? The fact that devs felt they needed to make that blanket change QUICKLY (1 month after release) without much thought as to how that might affect each individual class is an indication of poor game design. Why was there no thought as to how CDR might affect sorcerers specifically? Because they needed that change RIGHT NOW—because of how other classes were using it. “It is being over used so let’s nerf it.” Without any thought as to WHY it was being used and by which classes for which reasons? My guess is sorcerers are now scrambling for CDR on all their stats because they need it now more than ever. It made the problem worse! Why not reduce the CDR for some skills or increase CDRs to others—class specific? Why a blanket nerf across the board? Because they needed it NOW due to how other classes might have been using it. Blanket nerfs are a classic sign of 1 issue—BAD GAME DESiIGN. No one disagrees with buffs or nerfs in a game. They are needed for balancing. But when you make rushed, BLANKET changes across the board to a wide range of stats and skills—1 MONTH into a AAA game release—it indicates 1 thing—FLAWED GAME DESIGN. And that is what people are really mad at. We put significant time into building our characters and they have significantly changed OVERNIGHT! Changes like these ARE BAD FOR THE LONG-TERM HEALTH OF THE GAME!
The game is harder, I don’t mind, the execution of this patch is just pathetic because goes against their design philosophy.
They can easily buff defence aspects and nerf the outlier offensive aspects in order to promote the incoming malignant hearts. If you take away power from the defensive aspects ,the end result is classes with range are going to focus on even more offensive aspects entirely and play kiting glass cannon because the best way to win in both speed farming and pushing would be purely offence based. If they buffed the defensive aspect instead of just nerfing them, there would be an incentive for more hybrid offence and defence builds to exist.
Nerfing crit dmg and vulnerable dmg is not enough. Those two stats with the nerf is still king so even more focus is going to be put on gear to acquire these two stats. Imagine every ring and amulet has + crit dmg and + vulnerable dmg maxed, would you willingly give them up for any other stat? Another way is to either make all the other dmg type multiplicative in terms of + dmg, or not even bother with multiplicative dmg types to begin with. An all or none approach with dmg buckets would make sense as there would always be an dmg problem for players to solve in either case, as it stands right now, dmg dealt is unclear and muddies build diversity because the vast majority of the player base never seen the dmg formula and worked out the paragon board to max out their dmg in their builds. On another note, why does the druid get to run around with 900+ crit dmg on their aspects while sorc gets their best crit dmg passive nerfed? As far as I can tell, immobilize nerf from 75% to 30% is a 45% nerf. Wouldn’t it make sense to nerf Rampaging Were beast aspect? In combination with grizzly rage, we’re looking at a + 50% base crit dmg increase with just the time increase of Grizzly Rage. (5Sec)
CDR nerfs not paired with based CDR decrease means less build diversity without promoting diverse gear health. Builds that require CDR to function would need perfect rolls on their gear in order to function or close the gap per-patch. It would be even more important to get CDR everywhere you can instead of lowering the attractiveness of CDR, it increased it while harming build health. Some classes are way more reliant on CDR than others such as SORC. Their resource generation, dmg, damage mitigation, mobility all got impacted without compensation. If Diablo is about player choices then this cdr nerf reduced player choices for gear because even more emphasis is placed on CDR post patch.
At the end of this patch, I have to ask myself, did more builds get created due to changes in the nerf and buffs? If it’s a yes then Yaaay. More build diversity, huge win. From what I can gather, build diversity got reduced. Gear diversity got reduced.
I loved how they bug fixed some aspects for dmg, but some non bugged extreme outliers get a pass. Twisting Blades with Bursting Venom, Stampeding Werebeast? You can literally give every sorc a godly rolled Shako and the sorc would still output less dmg than any other class.

Yeah its upsetting how often games are catered around youtubers/streamers and people who can play more hours then i work in a day. ( I also play EFT and this a huge problem with the game. )
I was barely scratching lvl 50 nm , and once again get knocked down because some dude who has 3 lvl 100 characters says hes bored.

I was not in the mood for the passage of seasons, I definitely won’t. I see no reason to continue. I’m leaving, I hope they will hear everyone and do something about it.

This guy is clearly a Dev trying to save face for the game, this decision was asinine and a terrible way to slow progress since they lack any meaningful endgame content and it obviously wont be changing for quite awhile.
