This game needs magic find!

It would certainly help with the farming, of mythic uniques!

Currently, we only have rarity on a dungeon, that roles with it. A real paucity of a chance to.

I have found all the regular uniques, but feel without augmenting my gear with Item rarity, I literally have no chance to obtain an uber?

They should be extremely rare of course, but not near impossible.

I’ve enjoyed loot reborn, but without any real chance of obtaining one of the ubers (except farming for the uber mats ad nauesem), the game is losing its lustre, knowing I’ll never find one.

I hope you implement some tangible from of magic find, it was a hoot in D2!

Yeah, I’ve always liked MF/GF

Maybe add a tempering recipe for it, as utility!

I was just going to respond with… it would be pretty cool if they added a tempering recipe with magic find type affixes that you could build a set of gear with.

The good thing is they are extremely rare and not impossible.

No thanks. It was something which i rly hated about d2.

Mf was such an addictive stat. I had 3 sets of gear:

  1. MF
  2. Ubers
  3. PVP

People say its an outdated system but its what mad3 D2 loot hunt so fun :slightly_smiling_face:

Idk what game your playing with MF in dungeons. They took that out in season 1. We don’t even have any kind of things in the game that reflect any sources of magic find with dungeon difficulty. I’d say similar to Path of Exile when you have maps with a big list of positive and negative affixes for the map, it usually says increase to magic find. But the problem is, what exactly is magic find going to effect in D4? Things are 925 already, so there’s no need to have it effect the quality of the item. The affixes are capped at 925 so it can’t effect those either. About the only thing it can effect is Unique and GA frequency… I don’t think it needs to be an affix, I think it would work better if it gave us more magic find for monster level. In its current state it doesn’t matter what you do, the best gear drops in the lowest of the lowest of content and I think that’s a major problem. This is why you just gear In Helltide with a yawn fest

I hated MF, I hope we don’t get this one here.

This game needs its classes first to be playable and balanced.

if this game gets magic find, then it better add “luck” as a stat!

i actually don’t think that magic find will work fine with scaling content.
If they want to add any interesting stats first of all they should remove scaling.

Magic find is awful unless it’s on top of the existing stats I have (like how paragon levels originally worked in D3.)

If it’s an affix I have to choose, then hell no. I’m not gimping a character to make farming gear that makes me weaker and thus a less efficient farmer overall. If magic find is strong enough to significantly outperform the loss of efficiency from building into it it would get nerfed pretty fast anyway.

Well, it could be a specific unique item or uber unique item

absolutly wrong, D3 player way of thinking.

Mf should never exist in a D3way. It’s not even a magic find, it’s just increased drops. Mf should be always about a choice, so please stop talking nonsense.

I agree. I think yellow items should have a 3rd affix of magic find on all of them. You lose a normal affix and have a reason to grind specific yellows.

You can still infuse legendary powers and everything but basically lose an affix.

That way you can grind magic find gear and gives yellows a purpose.

You could even give blues even better magic find.

I always felt magic find was a bit of a gotcha. You had to stack a lot of it for it to make any difference, and that means being unable to use your actual fun items.

Then, once you get all the fun items you wanted from wearing your magic find gear, suddenly you’re so much more powerful that you can kill everything in the game easily. Now that you have the items you wanted, what fun is there left to be had since you spent almost all of your time playing the game decked out in MF gear and not “fun” gear?

This game doesn’t need magic find. It’s an outdated mechanic that encourages you to chase and use sub-optimal gear when the game should be about finding the gear that actually makes the gameplay fun.

It gets even worse in group play where the MF player contributes little to nothing of overall success, and D4 has group-forced content like world bosses and legion, and things where you’re bound to run into other players, like Maiden and the world events. It’d be a lot worse leveling because the content is still moderately difficult at that point (and presumably at some future point will be difficult again in WT4).

MF is a terrible system

I agree. It’s realy a bad idea to do so.

You try to find the best equipment.
You use MF to get better equipment.

And now comes the “not fun” part. Do i now use my best gear to fight or my best gear to get gear. It’s a stupid system cause you are kinda pushed into the direction of not using your best gear. Which is the whole point of the game.

So no, at least as a stat on gear or anything MF blows.

However i liked the system of the nephalem buff in D3 vanilla. That is a form of MF i like.

First, yes they need a system like magic find that makes build and gear variety. It breaks the meta.

But, they need a lot of stuff from d2 and to scrap pretty much the entire concept of aspects.
