These diablo 4 servers are rubbish

I didn’t mind it till the server issues. It gets real tiresome real fast when you lose progress to a disconnect, when the game never really needed to be “always online (but not really)”

I disagree on the game being great. I would say it is about average at the moment without the server problems. With the problems, it drops down a bit more in my opinion.

Of course they’d lie about it, they’re too incompetent to provide working stable servers. The world boss lags horribly good thing they’re so incredibly weak or we wouldn’t be able to kill them because of the horrific lag

I owe Blizzard an apology, my connection issue was not on them. That does not mean I am saying their servers are fine. Just that my issue was caused by something else.

So I ran a trace route and it timed out somewhere beyond the Verizon servers. This is how I know it was not my connection (at least). But before opening a ticket I decided to run the traceroute connected to some of the vpn servers so I could find the best one.
And they all showed the same thing, a few hops and then timed out. Which is not what I expected to see. Especially on the low ping ones.

So I started thinking, this all started for me on patch day. Naturally I assumed it was the patch…but then I thought “wait a second Windows did an update on that day also. And the timeouts may not be a specific server issue, it may just be a timed issue”.

Sure enough, I check my network adapter, and windows has turned power management for that back on. I explicitly turn this off. It has been a while since a Windows update reset those. So I would say check those for anyone who has been getting disconnects since their last update.

If you are hardwired, go to your networking section and adapter settings, when you see the icon, right click and properties and it is the last tab. “Don’t let windows manage”.
For wireless I believe you can set it from there also, or from the power setting set it to max performance.
Not really sure why Windows would put it to sleep during a traceroute or when a game is using it…but it was happening.

Since then have run through about 3 dungeons and no issue…yet

I am sorry Blizzard for assuming your servers are crap. The patch was untested so I am not sorry for saying stuff about that. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Servers really suck. I run super fast internet and a very high end gamer only PC I am so tired of running in place, dying and spending 100’s of thousands of gold…They new this release was coming for almost 2 years…and they still cant get it right.

Been since August you guys were talking about this and Season 2 HC has DC’d me and killed 3 characters so far…in one week

I tried something that is working so far. First I changed from 4K to 1080P. This allowed me to play for roughly an hour before being booted, still not good enough for me. I then used my Nvidia controls to scan for optimized GPU changes. My GPU had to be increased from roughly 11k mhz to over 17k mhz. Luckily my processor and graphics card could handle those increases without needing to adjust energy usage or create a heat problems. I’ll update this if the issue returns but so far I haven’t been booted off the servers with random disconnects.

Bless your heart for offering aid to someone who was upset 2 years ago.

Since around Christmas I’ve noticed consistent smooth zoning has switched to consistent extreme rubber banding. Also occasional discons.

I assume there’s been some server resource reallocation.

Was it a secret cabal Necromancer ritual on this topic? Because I think it worked!

i cant even sprint on my mount without rubber banding…

Using dance of knives too long causes lag.

These servers are quite garbage.

I just spent 20 minutes grinding extra chests in a seething realm to get DC’d at the end and get nothing.

Maybe they use Microsoft Explorer

The problem I’m addressing is the current one and look it’s helping people now…

If only players had a device they could use that sits on their desktop that could run the game locally.

:smirk:

To be fair, though, modern games are always online because the players demand it. Maybe if players didn’t require a never ending stream of micro-transactions… I mean content, and could manage themselves such that they didn’t take every possible opportunity to cheat, maybe we could have had the game running locally with peer to peer networking.

The moderators want you to create a new thread for everything, but for some reason old threads aren’t automatically locked. A moderator will chime in and lock an old thread when its necroed.

When you create a new thread, someone is going to complain that there already is a similar thread.

You can’t win.

Modern games are always online becaus DEV’s want them to be always in control of players. EoL!
If there’s no players control (ie offline gaming) it WIIL EVER be cheaters and moders. There’s no way around that…

If you want meaningful online leaderboards you can’t have offline play.

If you want microtransactions you can’t have offline play.

if ubisoft can have microscamactions in their single player games, then i dont see why you cant have them in offline

You can’t have them offline because it’s the online component that authenticates the microtransaction.
