First let give some context. The wife and I have packed schedules and we are lucky to get time to play D4 in the evening so we were still working on the same storyline on characters that took months to build up. We are long time Diablo players where D3 were our go to while dating calling it Diablo and chill.
We had to stop for the holidays and come back and get this notification. Wife comes on late not seeing the notification and picks up the boost. Now our story progress and builds are gone.
Why in the world did Blizzard put a mechanic that takes a couple of clicks and unclear details that will erase your progress?!
Sure we can make new characters but we do not have that much time and are furious that the progress we did make got thrown away. When you ask Blizzard for help they flip you the bird telling you it’s permanent, tough. Been with Blizzard since Warcraft 1 and defend against the haters but this pisses me off where I just do not see a reason to give their games my time. Absolute stupid thing to throw in a game.

Just to be clear you are upset because you were advanced past things you wanted to experience first? So you were a lower level than 50 and you wanted to finish storylines/quests?
If so I can see that as being upset about. Blizzard really needs a better way of communicating this or making to click give a warning.
Pretty much. I get that it’s not a long storyline but we have very slim windows of opportunity to play around work schedules and little ones so we are in a weird spot where now our options are to slog the first three acts again so we can experience act 4, skip act 4 and just guess at what happed while doing act 5, or spoil ourselves by reading random spots on the internet for a rundown of act 4.
It’s a real bummer since there is this build up to fight Lilith an now it’s just gone unless you start from square one again. Hate this boost, doesn’t even give you anything good, just ruins your build and erases your progress without warning.
Or flashing lights around it!!!
I don’t get, sooner or later you’ll be at 60, so why all the fuss around the booster?
You are correct…you do not get it.
Just start over. Leveling in D4 is a whopping five hours of gameplay.
For you, for others it’s not…
Took me 400 hours first play through…
And won’t do seasons because I don’t play like fools who can do it in 5 hours…
It’s a GAME, not a RACE/JOB…

The power gamers are always clueless in regards to people that actually enjoy the game the way the developers designed it…

But the game WILL ALWAYS end up like the power gamers want it to be…
D3 has gonne that path, and D4 IS going that path…
Sadly, right now is the way it is…
Alright… well there is a fix… you didnt boost your character… so you have to invite her to your game and she can join your campaign state. Since you only played together… then you should be at the same point in the story as her. If you boosted as well…this wont work. Sadly she wont be able to do the story without joining your game though each time. Of course she will be a better build… but you can remove skill points from the tree… and wear worse armor to nerf the character if you want.
