I never said it is flawlessly designed. It is however, a huge sales success, that cannot be denied. So since you cannot argue the facts you have decided your best course of action is to try juvenile attempts at attacking me. People that choose ignorance are a special kind.
Actually you are the one that is most likely spreading false information. Why would you do that? Are you cherry picking information to fit your narrative that you want?
I tested the same set of data on my rogue (same category etc) and got the EXACT same result albeit on 400 rolls.
Then I tested it on other slots/manuals on other characters and the data is way off.
Boots for example consistently gave movement speed at a 10.2%% rate over 400 rolls and I had my friend test the same amount on the same class and she got 10.6%. It should have been 25% within a margin of +/- 3% with a sampling size of 800 combined.
You didnt do any of your own testing did you? You assumed someone elses was right despite being limited and then dismissed someone else’s as wrong?
You take other’s experiences, opinions, and ideas and dismiss them if it doesn’t fit your narrative. The only thing that exceeds your ego and narcissism is your general malice towards other players. Either way believe what you want because you on going on ignore and by all means, please continue posting because you are just bumping this topic up again and again which might in some small measure actually be helping us get the changes we would like to see so for that…I thank you:)
No, I dont. That information you presented is very interesting. I would like to see more of it if you have it. Unfortunately, you dont have the fortitude to continue a discussion.
Sorry you have to resort to childish name-calling. We definitely need some mature, well-adjusted adults around here. I have no malice towards anyone but apparently you do. I hope you feel better.
All these fools saying “you’re not supposed to get it perfect on the first try” lol. Nobody is saying it HAS to be perfect on the first try, but when its the 6th or 7th try its an issue. On my Rogue I’ve bricked so many bows trying to get at least decent rolls on both tempers. One always rolls in the mid range while IF I get the temper I want it, it rolls a the very bottom or close to it.
Its an extremely poorly implemented system…
I don’t care about the player made thread, there is a video of Blizzard at one of their campfire shats saying they knew some tempers would be desired more than others so they weighted their rolls lower than the rest.
There is a thread with massive data sets that disprove this notion. Its all RNG, not weighted. You are probably confusing with certain Enchanting stats, which actually are weighted. So tempering = not weighted. Enchanting = weighted.
Can you provide a link to that?
There isnt one because they never said it.
Thats what i think as well.
No seriously they never said it. What they said was they wanted to look at a way to give players a little more say in the RNG but tempering limits are here to stay. “An items journy needs to have an end”.
I assume thats manual redesign.
Is it really that hard to form a complete thought or sentence?
Another example of straight gibberish.
If someone doesnt have the capacity to write a coherent thought or simple sentence chances are their opinion lacks any critical thought.
Speaking for yourself only indeed, the system sucks.
Nothing wrong with some friction in games. It’s not much of a game if all you do is win.
The data in the post is unbiased and repeatable. It doesn’t matter if you trust me or not; you can repeat the experiment yourself.
Not a single person has posted conflicting data in the weeks since I posted that data. A couple have posted corroborating data. To claim that I am biased and dismiss the result requires wilful ignorance on your behalf.
Remember patches break all kinds of things and what may be true one week, may change the next week and Blizz has on occasion been known to stealth patch certain things that are not listed in patch notes which they are human and it does happen unintentionally.
If we could just ignore the forum trolls and focus on getting the tempering system that isnt so punishing I think we would all be better off. Just let us pick the affix and keep the rolls limited.
I don’t “deserve respect” nor expect it. However, wilfully ignoring results of a repeatable experiment because it doesn’t agree with one’s confirmation-bias when you can repeat the process is just nonsensical.
I’ve said it multiple times in that thread and I’m sure it will need to be said more; there is no reason based on the current evidence that tempering is weighted. If someone provides evidence that shows otherwise, I’m not married to the result. There’s just no reason to believe otherwise on current data.
If you think my data is wrong, it takes an hour or so and a few thousand mats to prove it. Until such a time as you do so, saying you don’t trust me or don’t believe the result is complete nonsense and makes you seem stupid - you have the very simple means to prove what you say, but choose not to.
I just hate that when Im tempering, I need Vulnerable damage but have 4 options that my temper offers… I have a total of 6 attempts to get what I need and what does the game’s RnG do? I get cutthroat crit chance, 5 times in a row. Let’s not forget you have 2 tempers per item where some builds absolutely require you to get both tempers or the item isn’t an upgrade anymore. I don’t like it being paired with the rarity of finding a GA item/unique. Too much RnG with a game that has 0 Magic Find type of features. The only way I wouldn’t mind this system is if there was a scroll (rare) a “recipe” that has the tempers on it that you could then apply to the weapon. Example, I find a recipe that actually has Vulnerable Damage on it that I could then apply to the item that it fits on. Let them also be tradable.
This has always been and will always be the dumbest and most disingenuous detraction. Nobody expects perfection on the first try, that would be ridiculous. They do expect to have a reasonable chance to not have the system completely shaft you with things you can’t even use.
It took u a month to get a good item? You understand that the people… Including myself, who know how to hyper farm with efficiency are getting like 10-20 3GA a day… It’s seriously doesn’t take that long
as a result, the steam version of D4 achievement “Reach Level 50 with any character” only getting about 35% unlocked, which means about 65% steam players can’t even have at least 1 character to reach level 50.
this reflect how bad the situation is.
