The spiritborn dilemma

The primary factor that is making SB doing astronomical numbers is if you abuse the visicous shield legendary paragon node and some other double dipping multipliers… I mean you HAVE to literally ABUSE it…

Your avg player won’t be abusing those bugs and therefore will be just OP like your seasonal meta with every season in the past.

But to explain why SB is OP, well, the class is fundamentally designed really well and have many synergies within the skill tree if used correctly yields rewarding power.

@Phatty - Yes, I agree with what you said

I dunno i wish the game lasted longer for sb players but because other clases are so bad it would multiplicatively increase their play time lol to get to the same end game power spot.

I mean I am still playing… LOL, I don’t know when I will stop but also, I am not aiming to push pit 150 either.

I also play more than 1 class every season, so I hope once I am happy with where my SB sits I will move on to other classes, alt to play. I don’t really want a whole season to grind out 1 character only you know ?

Yeah i play eternal like a snail i didnt get all classes played until season 4.

So progression before voh felt about right for me but others were done and quit out the season early and come back for changes the next season (other eternal players).

Great discussion reactiontime and revive.

For sure, maybe the current pacing of the game is meant for players to play some alts as blizzard likely knows some ppl chew through content super quickly and is expected. But, if other classes feels bad to play right now due to how good SB is, that doens’t help the situation either.

That is why I think buffing other classes more instead of nerfing SB would be beneficial to encourage people playing other classes. I fail to see how screaming to nerf SB would help encouraging ppl to start playing other classes lol

I felt d3 was made to be so easy and quick to get through all classes so i felt the balance was good enough so to speak.

But its different for d4 and to be fair its a different game.

It just feels harsh to feel you must play sb. Its that whole psychological phenomenon of feeling punished for playing anything else.

Switching to an alt in another class would feel so painful.

Buffing others would make it feel better. I also understand reactiontimes worry about power creep and short game cycle time

It would be interesting to have a game where everyone is expected to play every class and geared to end game by 3 months with an average play time of 15 hours a week.

Thats zippy and you would have to incentivize going to the next alt.

The game has so many problems… heck, I need to whip out a spreadsheet on a thirdparty website just to try and figure out my attack speed caps is one perfect example.

How many hours a week do you guys play, revive and reactiontime?

I probably play around 25 on low end and 40ish hours on higher end, hours a week I estimate. usually somewhere in middle if you avg it out

I am including Saturday and Sunday by the way lol

Part of the problem is that we have a 3 month cycle so its hard not to be paced like d3 if they have very similar components.

So i hate to say it but depending on the metrics and how they are dialing in the time for the best retainment, it could end up “feeling” exactly like d3 relative to progression, which is a turn off for peoppe who want a longer gear farm and cycling.

But everyone plays different amount of hours so blizzard prob aiming for the casuals like me.

The streamers are like end game in 4 days to a week but looking for that quad ga…

Backsliding on your progress feels awful. If they nerf the spiritborn, people won’t be able to skip from Penitent to Torment 4 anymore which will feel awful and they might quit. If they buff other classes to the level of the spiritborn, the entire game is trivialized.

And Lightning Spear sorc was never nearly as meta FotM as the spiritborn.

Yeah quite a quandary. They probably wont do anything until end of season my guess.

They prob need to buff all the classes a bit and nerf spiritborn at the same time but they will probably miss the mark.

How hard do people want this game to be ? I mean was it hard back in S0 ? It was painfully slow I mean what is hard about it ?

Do you want to play this game like souls like where you dodge, you strike, you die, you dodge, you strike, you die ?

I don’t get it…lol

Good players felt even season 0 was already too easy, but it’s the closest thing to balanced the game saw. The only problem season 0 actually had was that it was inundated with bugs. Sorcs were too strong, but that was at least within tuning range.

not deserve, need. they feel completely outdated compared to the SB.

As long as SB is brought back down to reality before they’re reworked around a broken class…

Cool Story bro. We’re less than 2 weeks into the season of course only the neckbeards who’s only job is streaming the game all day are the only ones maxed out. Doesn’t change the fact what the class is capable of.

I knew SB would be OP. I knew it would be the most powerful class of the season. Holy hell though it went beyond my imagination.

I play spiritborn and honestly, for the good of the game, I think it should be nerfed. I know that would piss off a lot of people though, so I really don’t blame them if they don’t. There are already a lot of salty people about many other things.

It just makes playing other classes feel oh so bad. It also completely trivializes anything they were trying to accomplish with these difficulty level/progression changes.

What I want is for builds to be balanced. I dont mean just 1 or 2 builds per class but actual balanced. Im not asking for perfection either. Im asking for 10-20% difference between top dps and bottom. This is perfectly achievable. They even achieve this in WoW.

In some cases this might be different. If I am glass cannon I expect to be one shot but I also expect to be able to have a highly noticeable difference in DPS from a guy that can tank and spank, and vice versa. But, we should still be able to do the same stuff, just in different ways.

Im tired of swing meta. Im tired of one or two things being 1000x better than the next best thing. I want to play the build that I want to play and not feel like if I was playing another build that I would just have an easier life.

I dont care if that comes from buffs or nerfs. It will likely have to be both, but they have been at this for well over a year now. There should be nothing more than just tweak adjustments by now. I should be able to pick any build I want and accomplish the same thing as any other build within reason.

I also dont mean some hodgepodge poorly thought out builds. Im just talking at a level where I can build around any skill and with the same type of gearing and well thought out choices, I can comparable do things the meta can do within 10-20%.

Then they can balance the world side of the game around that. Thats what I want. Thats what I have said I wanted since day one and I have never swayed from that.

Even though I don’t quite agree exactly, in the interest of having a unified opinion that is at least REALLY close to what I want and something to present to Blizzard, I would second this statement entirely.
