No … you are not. I have 2 self found, zero trading, Non-SB characters steamrolling all of T4 and working my way towards Pit 100 (will be there soon).
Your problem is that you need it NOW…
Learn some patience.

I have over 300 hours this season. I am using Diablo.trade because I have run out of patience.
I am also working my druid towards pit 100 right now. If the system they’ve created requires me to sink another 300 hours in, then it’s not working. This isn’t acceptable for hardcore players, and definitely is not acceptable for the vast majority of players who are casual.
You should feel like your time is being respected, and, in the current season, it is not.
Notice I made this post a month into the season and not 3 days into the season? I’ve entirely run out of patience with this game; something that I’ve never experienced in a previous season.
Usually I quit out of boredom, now I’m quitting out of frustration.
I hear you. I still refuse to use 3rd party for trade so my frustration just keeps rising. I am mostly playing other things more than D4 right now because I am very unsatisfied with end game loot… or mid game loot, bugs, meme-level class disparity, more tabs that they give too much junk to fit in them anyway, etc. Some people like it as is, okay. I’m not one of them. Hoping for some good things in mid season patch but not holding my breath.
-I don’t mind ancestrals being more rare than before but this is way too far in the rarity direction for me. I have gotten a few 2GA Ancestrals but you know… they are always a resistance, life on kill, etc. Regular legendaries are also just the new blues and yellows. after a short go too. SOOOO much garbage.
Glad I enjoyed last season so much!

This has also been my experience. When I say “I’m not finding GA items” – I don’t mean I’m literally finding no GA items. I’m just not finding any usable GA items. The GA’d stats are always garbage and the 2 GA items are so rare that you literally just don’t get anything you can upgrade with.
I am single-handedly going to bump this post until the end of time. The gold sink in master working is just so stupid.
They need to either:
Either of these options would be better than the gold sink we currently have. Also, as the OP said, we need more sources of gold that can be earned organically without selling things to other players. Making 100m gold per IH run felt great last season. Now it’s nearly impossible to grind gold.
There are so many bottlenecks in the endgame right now. I know they probably did this to force you to play different game modes. If you need obducite, you play NMD or Hordes. If you need glyph levels or obols, you do Pit. If you need uniques, you do boss rotations. I get that.
But gold is the worst one IMO. If you don’t sell things to other players, it seems the best course of action is to do boss rotations and just sell all the uniques you get to vendors. You can make about 100m gold per hour doing this, but it’s just so, so, so boring.
If anyone knows of a better way to get gold, please tell me.
Quoted for truth.
I’d add to this, we need more gold drops in general so we don’t feel compelled to pick up all the stupid blues and yellows for the vendor cash.
This season? It started way before S6. Sadly the way things are setup it tells me it is what they wanted. A child could see the outcome of all this. Yet it is still allowed to continue. It is beyond a joke by now.
I disagree. This is exactly for hardcore players. If we are dumping that much time into the game (which a number of us do) then we’d get bored in 2 days if it only took 100 hours to gear a toon. You can’t have it both ways. You either get a lot of time out of a long grind or you play for a week and get bored, as you state yourself →
Then
Again, I disagree. From my experience with casuals, the average casual player does not feel the need to get perfect gear and run pit 150. The average casual player plays a couple times a week. Maybe putting in an hour or two each session. They aren’t looking for the same things we are. They just want to screw off to unwind or have something monsters to smash with their buddies. So them never having the opportunity to see the extreme end-game, due to the time investment required to do so, is irrelevant because they have no interest in it.
And finally
Which means your going to quit no matter what. 1 way or the other we ALL quit a season at some point. And, for most of us most of the time, it isn’t because we were happy with what we accomplished. We either finish to quick and get bored or get tired of looking for the next upgrade. And that’s never going to change no matter what the devs do. Because the perfect balance doesn’t exist for a broad scale of people with different levels of desire/patience/investment.
Decide that’s it’s ok to be done with a season and recognize that that it is ok to not be completely satisfied with the ending. If you got entertainment out of the majority of your time spent then the season was a success for you and you come back the next one. Out of your 300 hours how many of them did you hate? The last 50? 75?100?
In short - you’re fine with the entire point of a loot hunt game being gatekept from everyone – casuals and hardcores.
Well, everyone except those who play Diablo.trade. Which is the entire point of making this thread.
Thank you for refocusing the thread, to focus on the real issues.
I’m after an amulet with +ranks to conjuration mastery and +ranks to devouring blaze. This is a super rare drop even for legendary. I’ve played since season launch and have not seen one ancestral drop that had or could get either of these affixes. The ONE legendary I got with +DB, I had to enchant a bunch of times to get +Glass Cannon (not the conjuration mastery I wanted, but an ok replacement sort of). Take this to be tempered and bricked the first time, then bricked the second and final time. I can’t see any other way to get this item other than to infinitely play this game or pay at a trading site. What do you suggest?
Disagree frankly. I have used diablo trade a handful of times early on to trade some unneeded items for some gold but I haven’t traded for a single item myself. I also don’t think I’ve been on diablo trade for at least 2 weeks now. Everything I have is self found. I have 50 maxed aspects, all aspects I actually use are at max rolls, except Interdiction at 13% You absolutely do not need diablo trade to succeed and steamroll everything in the game.
If you’re semi-efficient the desired drops come plenty. If you want to use diablo trade to streamline things, it’s always there, but it’s definitely not a “forced” requirement.
What’s really making me mad is that I just ran two ten level birds, made over 800 rather on each, was gonna just open the gold cache, then right as I opened the council door I crashed! Both times! This game and how fed up it is now is pissing me off. Seriously about to quit.
Yeah, Im calling BS on SSF 50 max aspects and all the ones you use minus 1 that is only 2% off.
It’s important to state whether you are playing Spiritborn or not.
I personally don’t do any trading, but I’ve also given up on D4 for now. I’ll be back when I see they are no longer suffering from cranial rectal inversion at blizzard. Wife’s having a blast on her SB though lol.
Yea im sure people are sick of having to buy korean and chinese gold to go buy from chinese players just to play the game… Very sad.
You’re gonna be even more frustrated when you get the items and realize there is nothing to do with them.
no doubt this is just unacceptable
No idea why anyone would want to use diablo.trade especially in a seasonal game format where there’s really nothing fun or great to do end game. Just to have the gear become obsolete end of season.
Aside from that I agree this game is a hot mess. Loot drops, tempering, masterworking all suck big time. The content is stale even shortly after the release of an expansion. You can have absolutely no faith things will get better anytime soon with how wack Blizz is. It’s almost comical to see in what new ways Blizz can kill the fun factor each season. They’re not even building upon anything, just creating a new broken mess every 3 months.
