I genuinely didn’t even realize there was a Premium Battle Pass bundle this season. In prior seasons, it was a simple, upfront option — now it’s buried under layered, fragmented purchases that don’t explain how they interact with each other. I had 4,400 Platinum saved from playing previous seasons and buying the expansion, and I would have happily bought the Premium pass outright like always… if I had known it even existed.
Instead, I unlocked two Reliquaries (500 and 800 Platinum), assuming this was just the new system. Then I found out afterward that buying anything individually locks you out of the 1,000 Platinum Premium bundle — a bundle that includes all three Reliquaries and extras for less than I already spent. That’s absurd.
Now I’m being offered a “discounted” Deluxe bundle at 1,820 Platinum, which still charges me extra just to get cosmetics I probably wouldn’t have bought on their own. So not only did I spend more than the Premium bundle, I also don’t get any of the extra perks unless I spend even more.
This isn’t just poor UX — it feels like it’s intentionally designed to mislead. At minimum, there should be a clear, prominent warning before buying any Reliquary that it disables bundle options or affects pricing. Right now, it feels like a punishment for being an engaged player.
Wow, that’s dirty. Definitely intentional. I’m not buying any more expansion packs(I don’t get the BPs)then. I can’t trust them. The last expansion was overpriced anyway.
It bugged even the dev are looking into the problem, they mentioned it on the Blizzard tracker tab. It also stated on B-net before you launch the game at the top.
like, why even change it? was the original path too straight forward? did they just think “hey, let’s offer half the items for the same amount of money?”
Yea this battle pass is absolutely disgusting, its the most aggressive battle pass ive ever seen in any video game. Its overly complicated and confusing, I am someone who plays every season and completes the battle pass every season and this straight up just makes me not wanna continue to play.
i think the pass is fine once you understand it. but if it is weird and confusing, you have failed with your product. i really think they should consider going back to the old battle pass with s9

Question here, I bought the expansion with a battle pass option that could be used any season, I have not used it so far and now with the new system I do not seem to have an option to unlock anything for free besides the 1st reliquary “battle pass reliquary” which is automatically unlocked? Does that mean my battle pass got applied to that or did it just disappear
It is working as intended. They don’t see a need to fix something that isn’t broke.
Did you notice there was an issue with reliquaries in the battlepass and a hot patch was released to fix it around 7 hours after the season started?
5 tries to fix Mendeln that was broke for several seasons that ended up breaking a glyph that was let go for months. Broken mechanics allowed to go on for a whole season or more.
Yet, if something isn’t working with the cash shop or battlepass it is fixed within hours. First day of the season in the forums was not a disappointment. LOL
And it seems like its more expensive compared to previous versions? Previously we would pay 1000 platinum, but through the battlepass we’d recover 700 platinum, which basically meant that the BP was just 3USD if you complete the full journey. But now, you can only recover 200 platinum (if i’m not mistaken), and that’s from the Free reliquary. So its nice that they are giving 200 platinum for free to every player, but it does mean that the premium BP just costs 10USD compared to 3USD
I can see how this could happen for players not taking a good look at the system first and seeing how it all fits together.
Might have a closer look at how this offering appeared next time I’m checking reliquary. Haven’t decided what I want to do with it all yet. Issues expressed in related threads.
No. They can do that. Because they’ve already achieved their goal.
They’ve cancelled all battle passes stored on inactive players’ accounts. So let’s assume another scenario where they say “yes, this system wasn’t effective and we decided to cancel it.” They have more options than you might think.
