i now have 200 hours played and have found FOUR 3 GA legendary items- hope that makes ya feel feel better ![]()
Yup it is. And I like this system.
you guys are gonna cry so much it will become like D3: geared in 1 evening, upgraded in 2 days and 90% of people quitting bored as hell after 3 weeks.
It’s already like this, except it’s not 3 weeks, it’s 2.
This is a seasonal game by design. Most players will put 100-150 hours into a season, tops. If it takes 50 hours to get a single upgrade when your gear is still relatively mid, that’s not great.
They need to strike a balance between wanting people to grind and the game feeling totally unrewarding. People voicing their opinion that the current balance leans too heavily toward unrewarding doesn’t equal crying, it’s just feedback. That’s literally the point of this forum.
If you’re a no-lifer that can put 300-400 hours into every season to max out a character, congratulations. But you (nor Blizzard) can expect most people to do that.
1-2 hour per day like a normal hobby and a little more in the weekend
There is 105 days in a season. I’ll let you do the math. You are close to 300.
No no-lifer. Just a normal hobby over the entire season and not 2-3 weeks.
People want seasons every month.
Just casually breezing through on a class that doesnt need drops at all.
Except not everyone is playing a broken SB and able to speed run pit 110. You’re basically playing a Nintendo cheat code version of the game. Have at it if that does it for you, but the rest of us, at least some, playing the regular game aren’t enjoying the GA and aspect drop rates.
A guy like you probably had all your gear in less than a week cranking out 16 hour days, eh?
Again, lecturing the average player about what’s what when you’re basically playing an exploit.
and ill bet they all have a big fat single resist stat or a LHC to heal lol
Over half of the ones I find have one of those. Very useful…
Is there a viable LHC build?
I think the grind is good early game. stops it from being max level and fully geared in 2 days like S5, butI think a progressive up tune in drops would be worth looking at. It could be based on time elapsed since season start, or played time per char/acct, or paragon level, something anything that takes into acct that normal gear is now trash for this character/player and they need to get some better stuff.
Edit:
My amateur game dev fantasy here is AI that evaluates character power at drop time and scales item power range to be from not quite as good as current to slightly better than current with a small chance of a big boost on 1 item. If I ever get this to work i’ll be rich lol
Edit 2:
I think the Holy Grail here is to find a way to offer constant minor progress with excitement bursts here and there. Departing too far from this in either direction tends to lead to undesirable outcomes RE player interest / engagement
I like this. This season hasn’t been that at all. I’ve yet to have a “Holy crap!” moment with a gear drop this season. It’s been completely meh across both toons.
Yeah, I had literally one early season. I just finally got strong enough to take on Duriel in t3 and got a 4 star banished lords with 52%. this was the same day that the OP variant of quill volley hit the build sites. Before and after that … well not so much lol
Maybe that’s it? The SBs speed farming GAs from pit 100+ are snatching up the allotted GA drops on the daily…hmmmm
Yes lol ‘they took my rng’ threads
You are not even half in the season
You still have plenty of time to get your items in pit 80 esp after the buff incoming.
You still have nearly 70 days.
Again, I want a season that last 3 weeks…you guys will cry so much they will cave and we will get Diablo 3 all over again: geared in 1 evening, upgraded in 2 days and leave the season bored after 2 weeks.
You’re killing me here. Just keep playing your Nintendo cheat code class and don’t worry about what the rest of us are complaining about. My barb can’t speed farm pits at any decent level. I guess I could stack resolve on my SB and push it, eh?
How’s that go? Left Left Up Up Down Right Right
For over a week now I’ve been doing sub-60 second tier 100 runs for several hours per day with an equipment opal on. Haven’t gotten much to write home about. Zero upgrades. A couple things I sold for 10-20 billion each. That’s it.
Assuming you have started a barb at the beginning of the season, and not just changed 2 days ago and complain, you should be able to push pit 75 to gain lvl and wealth.
If you need to upgrade items or aspects, try whisper caches (they were rly good to me this season) or you can do horde 6 waves (so its short) to get GA items.
Your progress will be less fast then a spiritborn but you can still progress. There is 65+ days left. I don’t know how many hours a night you play 1-2-3-4 and what time you allot on weekends but you can easily progress. 65+ days left is a lot of time, more than 2 months.
But it is not what you want. You want a 3 week season. You want to have everything within 3 weeks. I come from Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 where there is a very long grind (D2 is 6 months season) and D3 where they ruined it with an Insta grind. D4 is a nice in-between. It could be adjusted a little namely mb higher chance of 2 GA items in higher pit, but small adjustments.
I am at 295 atm and waiting for the buffs. I might do a REND or Double Swing barb and grin my last lvls in pit 75. The name of my Spiritborn is BuffBarb
I would be you had your SB nearly maxed out in less than 2 weeks. I would bet you play far more every day than the average person.
That’s why I keep telling you that your advice and opinion on the subject is moot. Not everyone wants to play with a cheat code.
When you roll your barb come back and tell me how your pit 75 speed runs go.
And go play the game for 65 more days and come back to tell me how it goes. You will have done nice progress, got upgrades to your gear and aspects and got wealth that will allow you to upgrade even more gear.
You wont cus you want a season that last 20 days.
This is the hill you choose to die on? That anyone not happy with the loot system wants a short season? So your recommendation is to play a SB and speed run high level pits.
It’s ironic that you don’t see the breakdown in your own logic, likely because you’re taking full advantage of this broken class.
Sure, if I grind at my slow barbarian pace for the next 65 days I may find another upgrade or two, but BAM! How much faster would it be if I could do quintrillion damage using what amounts to a 1 skill playstyle without much in the way of setup at all?
Love the wealth comment as well. Basically it all boils down to a 3rd party web site where I can buy overpriced gear from SB players that I can pick up in game and roll the dice on bricking… good times.
