For future reference, I like monkeys, they are adorable.
I would never say anything about them in a negative light.
Other classes weren’t even nearly as overpowered as the spiritborn are. If they do a proper balancing and bug fix pass, they will end up nerfing them by 99% or more.
Can you imagine the outrage on the forums if they nerf the spiritborn by 99%?
They will do a 20-30% nerf that will barely affect them and call it a day.
People will lose it we all know that but people also have to see that it is in part because of how bad of shape the other classes are. I added to the OP to make it clear I wasn’t referring to the exploit people are using for the SB when I was talking about their power level but all classes after sinking 40+ hours into a season should be able to play the content available and level glyphs all the way but right now they cant.
Look. Why don’t you check the outrage till S7? You’re just making assumptions now. Also as was clearly explained in the campfire chat, since S2 they have held a stance to not nerf/fix a class/build unless it is causing stability issues with the servers. They have left many broken builds alone till the next season. As for “but SB are doing xyz more dmg”… bud, broken is broken. Not working as intended and doing trillions or not working as intended and doing quintillions… who cares? Broken is broken.
This game is also not a competitive game.
I mean you can keep complaining but it won’t change a thing. The decision has been made.
Hopefully this will lead to better testing prior to something being released but that is a whole other discussion.
Yeah you may play since Alpha but that also prove how wrong you are because you yourself just say this " They can gain a way to avoid all attacks for a couple of seconds. I know Sorc has its tools but my Rogue doesn’t."
And i have proven you that its possible to have a way to avoid all attacks for a couple of seconds as a rogue.
I partially agree with you, OP. I think SB is indeed too OP for its own good…however, I also think that other classes shouldn’t have to be given near superpowers to compete with such a buggy class. This post kinda reminds me a bit of D3, and the story of Zoltun Kulle. He essentially wanted all humans to be back on par power-wise with how they were during the Golden Age of the Nephalem. Did he have a point that it was unfair that Inarius decided to alter the worldstone in some way, forever weakening humanity? Yeah, he did. But it was still a misguided endeavor. Especially the way he wanted to go about it, using his Black Soulstone to trap the souls of both angels and demons, and use them to boost humanity’s strength. To him, they were necessary sacrifices on the path to greatness…and he was ultimately killed for his attempts at enacting his plans.
Not saying the OP deserves any kind of death–figurative or literal–just saying it seems misguided too. But it’s a moot point now. The devs have already made their intentions clear that they will be nerfing SB at the start of Season 7. I just hope that the nerf doesn’t put the class to where Barbarian is atm. The outrage of the SB players would not be able to be drowned out.
Although…I am confused as to where the outrage was with the other classes being nerfed. Perhaps the posts are out there, but I haven’t looked to be honest. Barbarian has been literally nerfed into the ground and is now the odd kid out on the playground no-one wants to play with–and everyone is doing their best to avoid. I’m not sure whether or not Werewolf Druid was nerfed to such a degree as this, but…I’m sure it was nerfed to some degree, anyway. I don’t understand how the devs feel that nerfs should involve literally making an entire class unviable in endgame…or what they are doing exactly do cause this–but it needs to stop. But getting off topic once again. In summary–SB OP, but making all the other classes OP would be just as bad.
Learn from Zoltun Kulle’s mistakes, OP.
Also, don’t let the angry Horadrim mob get you
No, you’re right. There has never been such a huge gap before, and when you combine it with the rarity of items this season it all compiles together. It feels bad to play other classes at the moment compared to a SB.
My necro struggles currently in T4, even with decent gear. It’s slow in comparison, and there’s no way I could reach Pit 125 with my necro whereas my SB had no problem.
I also agree it doesn’t make it good for the game. I’ve said before in other posts I’m an advocate for fixing bugs sooner rather than later. Definitely not by the mid-season patch. Yes it might take away the ‘fun’ but it’ll set more reasonable expectations. Especially when the discrepancy is this big.
Curious to see what happens in S7, although for some people it seems like the damage is already done.
you are a example of why this game is that bad and more similar to vampire-survivors than any aRPG on market. Seeking just over-stimulation by faster, faster and faster.
They should cut down power by 25% and boost health and exp gain per one pack, to make combat more engaging and not making it more casual, more unskilled, more mobile auto combat game as you wish.
Entire diablo lost due to community that seek only over stimulation
Damage is done for me. I’ll look and see what s7 is gonna bring but it’s gonna need not only some changes to better class balance, better acquisition to things like aspects, ability for all classes to do high enough pit to level glyphs without having to have the best gear possible, but the season mechanic itself needs to be a banger. These seasons just have not been good enough to justify restarts. They out of excuses as to why there is low effort to no mechanic at all imo.
I like the game so like I said I’ll keep watch but as things are, I’m not coming back. I don’t mind the grinds and stuff but I need to get some carrot lol. I don’t care about not getting top gear everywhere but I do care about aspects.
I couldn’t disagree more. Who whats to play a game where every class facerolls the hardest content? Sounds like d3 kiddie mode to me. My preference is nerf the SB to other class levels and keep T4 aspirational vs farmed by every class and build. Thoroughly enjoying the challenge of my Necro vs the cake walk EZ Mode of the SB (which I dont play because its too damn boringly easy). Reminds me of my nephew that used to play Madden on the easiest level just so he could “win” but sucked bigly playing vs others because he has no skills, just an OP team.
Bring on the SB nerfs vs the rapid d3 simplification and overwhelming power surge and D4 still has a shot at being a true Diablo Franchise game
Yay common sense!!! Then Blizz will add a handful of torment levels, then everyone cries they cant reach new torment level so the buff the crap out of every class and we end up in a cycle of poor development as they concentrate on adding more stupid zeros to life and damage (see set items) vs more actual content
As a die hard D3 fan I say, don’t go down the route of poweecreep, it might eventually destroy the game. Were not people complaining about D4 becoming to easy?
I’ll give my opinion on this… I preferred launch where there were less mobs that took a bit to kill and it felt like actual combat to this gazillion mobs packed in every tiny corner that just get one shot. You are right. There is zero skill involved in any of this game. Copy meta build. Get some lucky gear drops. Everything in Game just walk and hold down x on controller. Their idea of any challenge is do higher pit which is same but instead of one shot you just stand in place for 2 minutes on trash holding button and 5-10 minutes on boss. Still no skill. Stand still hold button.
However with how the game is designed that you have to grind 2000+ pits and 1000 ladder boss kills and whatever else, I would not want to slug through all that either so the game would have to be more rewarding because it’s already too much repeat ad nauseam.
You can blame the streamers that call themselves “blasters” as to why combat is in the state it is in.
I clearly said that the immunity is built in the character and that it doesn’t need an item, just like Flame Shield does for Sorc.
You are too casual for this topic, lad.
Hmmm, at no point in the game I’m aware of was a single class this far ahead of every other class on so many builds.
I mean barbs had their moment in the sun. Sorcerers did too. But Trillions of damage, correct me if I’m wrong, is a lot more than barbillions.
The disingenuous behavior here is people acting like they like their SB simply because it’s the new class, not because it’s God-mode. Unintended or not, which I don’t buy at all given their comments prior to release, they should have rectified it early on.
Now if I do anything open world at all I get to experience the new class fantasy on my barb, where he’s the guy who follows the heroes around picks up loot because he doesn’t have the fury to actually kill anything. That happens when things die before they have fully zoned in.
Barbarian is the new kitty pet. Mercenary is the new barbarian.
LS was doing Trillions last season if I’m not mistaken.
And as I said, this is not a competitive game.
The stance that the devs have maintained since S2 is that they won’t nerf/fix a class/build unless it is causing stability issues for the servers.
As for this… other classes are left not being able to contribute thing. This is also not new… not even by a long shot.
I remember people freaking out the first season that minion necro became viable. The cries that they could not get an attack in at maiden or legions were pretty loud.
Then fast forward to S5 and it was LS wouldn’t let you breathe at maiden or legions.
Now it SB but I’ve been playing all these classes and QV is a focused cone, while Evade is intrusive but nothing what it was after it did get nerfed due to it causing stability issues.
Imho, my LS is far more detrimental to others as her wide aoe is still crazy. I now use her for all my infernal hordes instead of Evade cuz I always pull more Aether with her than Evade.
I would like to add my minion necro to this discussion but I just hit 60 with her and have only one level 1 glyph with all the wrong gear, no aspects or tempers. So I can’t use it as an example.
I think that one thing that may be frustrating people is that everyone and their grandmother is playing SB. Well… not only is it the new FotM but it is currently broken.
But that is not going to be the reality for S7.
I initially believed that they would let SB be super OP like necro was for D3 for several seasons. I no longer believe that. They will fix all the unintended interactions for S7. I still expect the class to be doing very well nonetheless as it is well put together.
Expecting them do do anything else after they have already said they won’t till S7 is basically an argument of futility.
The class will be fixed. I mean… heaven forbid if they don’t do it right… either way cuz people are gonna be ready to freak lol.
It’s a lame justification for letting something like this ride. “We said we wouldn’t do that during a season.” Uhh, okay. So leave the Nintendo cheat code God-mode class in play to the detriment of others. Not only does it impact open world, but it gives a select group of players using the broken class far greater chances to find the elusive GA/Aspects items because they can clear content so much faster. I’m looking at the pit 100 60 second clears so often referenced when anyone complains about GA drop rates.
That lets them basically monopolize trade.
It’s broken but Blizzard got their expansion sales and justify it by asking players if they want their God-mode toys taken away. Just a silly approach given we all know people wouldn’t have quite over losing their exploited super class.
I think most builds should be able to reach pit 90 without too much hassle. It should get harder from there.
40 bugs in 7 patches. Are we glossing over it a bit
This thread is the equivalent of “i want all classes to have a nuke button to melt the screen effortlessly”.
I dunno, sounds boring
